Traffic at Las Vegas Boulevard and Stewart Avenue will be restricted from March 20 to 23 for sewer system improvement work.
The intersection is near the Fremont Street Experience.
Las Vegas Boulevard will narrow to one southbound travel lane near Stewart Avenue starting at 8 p.m. Friday until early Monday morning.
Stewart will be completely closed to traffic at Las Vegas Boulevard. Ogden and Mesquite avenues and Bonanza Road are recommended for through east-west travel.
Motorists traveling northbound will be detoured from Las Vegas Boulevard at Ogden Avenue to Sixth Street and Mesquite Avenue to continue traveling north.
Construction crews are removing and repaving the intersection.
The $3.4 million sewer rehabilitation and road reconstruction project started in September. The improvement work includes the removal and replacement of the sewer system from Las Vegas Boulevard to Eighth Street, rehabilitation of the sewer system between Eighth and Maryland Parkway, and utility relocation work.
Stewart will also be repaved from Las Vegas Boulevard to Maryland Parkway.
The entire project, by contractor Wells Cargo Construction, is slated for completion in April.
