City hires contractor to produce BCTV programming

Boulder City has hired a contractor to produce programs for its public access cable channel.

George Livingston, a broadcast engineer, is on a monthly contract to work on BCTV, said Rose Ann Miele, the city's public information officer.

Livingston's contract is $3,000 a month for 80 hours of work, she said.

Last month, the city fired Roy Theiss, BCTV's studio coordinator, and said they would not replace him.

Miele since then has arranged programming from her office in City Hall.

Miele will continue filming city events and Livingston will edit the footage and film her weekly show, "FYI."

Livingston in 2001 founded The Graphics Room, a production company in Las Vegas.
