Name: Chris Gatlin
Age: 50
Campaign Web site: none
Party: Democrat (conservative)
Occupation: Business owner
Education: Bachelor’s in industrial education
Time in Nevada: 46 years (with a break)
Time in Boulder City: 46 years (with a break)
Most important issues: Fiscal responsibility, direction of our city and getting some city services back on track as services to the residents.
Qualifications for job: What are anyone’s qualifications for this position, unless you have studied political science and intend to be a professional politician? I am in business locally and have been a longtime resident. A friend in town sent me a message saying, “The Lord gave us five senses, and all must be used in this position. Additionally, there are two more: common and horse. I think you have both.” So maybe my qualifications are common sense and horse sense.
What sets candidate apart: I have been in town a long time, and I have seen many changes, some good and some bad. I do not know my opponents well, so I do not know that I am set apart by anything. I want our city to be able to prosper in a civil manner and I want the city services we pay for to be true services to the citizens of the city.
