Alexander Dawson accepting preschool applications

Spaces are filling up quickly for the first 3-year-old preschool program at the Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain.

The school is accepting applications for a half-day morning program and a full-day program, which will begin in fall 2009. Applicants must be 3 years old by Sept. 1.

"We are delighted with the number of applications we have received so far for the preschool program," said Headmaster Michael Imperi. "We have already received enough applications to fill a classroom and are considering opening a second classroom, pending the results of our admissions process."

The new program will be housed in a soon-to-be remodeled area of the Early Childhood Education Center, located at the school on 10845 West Desert Inn Road.

Admissions priority will be given to siblings of Dawson students, as well as those attending the full-day program.

Tuition for the half-day morning program is $9,950. Tuition for the full-day program is $13,255. No financial assistance will be available.

"The 3-year-old preschool program will streamline perfectly with Dawson's other programs, which include classes for pre-kindergarten 4-year-olds through eighth graders," Imperi said.
