Letter to the editor:
A poor spokesman for conservatives
Wednesday, March 4, 2009 | 2:03 a.m.
In Tuesday’s letters to the editor section in the Las Vegas Sun, Jim Moldenhauer defended Rush Limbaugh and suggested he is often right. If he weren’t, Moldenhauer said, people wouldn’t listen to him. “Let’s see some examples of his errors, please,” Mr. Moldenhauer commanded.
I doubt people listen to Rush Limbaugh because of his veracity or his accuracy score card. Many laughed along with him when he made fun of Michael J. Fox’s disease symptoms on the stem cell research issue. They chuckled as well when he referred to Barack Obama as the “Magic Negro” and as being “Halfrican American.”
Limbaugh has a pattern of putting his foot in his mouth, and it cost him his job as a commentator on ESPN a few years back when he made controversial comments about Donovan McNabb and his status as a black quarterback in the NFL.
Scores of Limbaugh’s Republican disciples responded to his challenge to vote in last year’s Democratic primaries in an effort to create the “chaos” that he called for. Now Limbaugh wants President Obama to “fail.” Sadly, a fair number of his 20 million listeners probably agree with him but can’t make themselves mouth the words.
Today, Limbaugh is touted as the standard-bearer of the conservative movement. But he has a history of repeatedly corrupting his conservative views and his credibility with “insensitive” or “racially” charged comments. In the case of wanting the president of the United States to fail, I think we can add the word “unpatriotic” to the list.

I am not a Rush Limbaugh listener. But I did hear the talk he made last week at the Republican PAC meeting. He explained his comment very well about what he meant when he said that he wanted Obama to "fail." Limbaugh's concern is that Obama will rip the heart out of the American spirit and incentive to innovate and create wealth by heaping tax burdens on the very people who work hard to create jobs and wealth in this country. He wants Obama to fail in those policies. That is very patriotic. It is the democrats that rooted for the failure of George Bush. Harry Reid even declared Iraq to be a "loss". When it comes to being unpatriotic the democrats have no room to criticize. Their hatred of Bush and his policies, and desire and wish for his failure was very obvious. Republicans want what is best for America, but many of them believe that Obama's policies are dangerous not only damaging the present, but also the long term future of this nation.
I look forward to the day when Rush becomes irrelevant, on the radio dial and as a republican "spokesman". His popularity has always puzzled me.
That being said, can we move on to some of the other relevant topics of the day? I'm rushed out.
LOL
Obama,Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi have reduce themselve to attacking a talkshow host to defend their failed tax, borrow and redistribution spending plans.
Obama,Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi engaged in a switch and bait engagement of Republican ideas, declared them failed, and passed what ever they whated.
Obama,Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi willnot have a discussion on issues with the Republcans in Congress
Obama,Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi even have resorted to falsely stating what Rush Limbaugh said. Rush wants the move to convert America to socialism to fail
Why have Obama,Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi have reduce themselve to attacking a talkshow host
Lush Bimbo is a frickin no talent JOKE. I'd rather listen to Michael Savage LOL
"I am not a Rush Limbaugh listener."
I noticed you preface all your comments with this line. Why is that? Maybe you realize how disgusting this man is. But, why do you use the exact same rhetoric as Limbaugh.
I just love watching the neocons insane behavior. Starts my day off with a laugh. Thanks.
I have not listened to Rush for over a decade now.
I would not mind listening to him. He gives out good information and he is very entertaining.
I think that he is number one in talk shows ratings in the country.
I think the left are very jealous of him.
It is funny that bulk of the people who are promoting that Rush is the leader of the Republican Party are........Democrats.
I have no problem if Obama and his Democratic pals want to put Obama and Rush at the same level.
If that tickles your fancy then go at it.
On the contrary, every time Rush gets all red-faced and coats his microphone with spittle, a Democrat gets their wings.
By all means, let this man represent your party. He is representative of the failure of the republican philosophy.
Democrats: Let's put Obama on the same level as a radio talk show host.
Brillant plan....similar in brillance to Tarp II and "stimulus", the pork laden omnibus budget bill, raising taxes during deep recession, add new tough regulations on car makers during a deep recession, add taxes to make the cost of electrical power to go up during a deep recession and greatly expanding government BS spending which generates tons of trillions in new debt.
Keep up the good work!!!!!!!
I was hoping that they were going to smarter than this.
I think that hope is completely smashed.
We are completely screwed as a country. We got clowns running things.
All Limbaugh has is his opinions. Whatever one's personal take on him is, that's all it is, except his are popular enough to be paid.
Part of the price we all pay for free speech is to endure it from others.
It amazes me that the Republican party continues it downward spiral by hitching its wagon to a former drug addict and racist. Haven't the losses in 06 and 08 shown them anything. Only appealing to conservative Christians and right wing whackos only serves to alienate true conservatives and independent voters.
Limbaugh's positives for the under-40 crowd were 11%.
Give this man a megaphone. Please. The Dems could conceivably expand their majority in 2010 with Limbaugh's help.
I can only hope all this stress doesn't send Limbaugh back to his squadron of doctors and their painkiller prescriptions.
Let's have a Limbaugh vs. Obama debate since Obama is now being placed on the same level as radio talk show by his fellow Democrats.
I thought he was President but if Democrats want to turn him into a radio talk show host then good for them.
LOL, Limbaugh is a hack and wouldn't be able to handle the stress of being the mouthpiece of the republican party. He'd be back to popping pills in no time!!!
nance, there is nothing i'd like more than to see a Limbaugh v. Obama debate. 2012? Awesome!
How many dittoheads does it take to screw in a light bulb? None. Rush hasn't shown them how to do it yet. HaaaaHaaaHaaa! thanks. thank you.
Hey John Sloan, still waiting for your example of Limbaugh's errors......We know you cannot do it!
LOL.....gmag39, ksand99, theBs, Phil and many Democrats want to say Limbaugh is equal to Obama.
Obama the President vs. Limbaugh a talk show host.
The bulk of the people who are saying that Limbaugh is Obama's equal opponent as leader of the Republicans are..................DEMOCRATS.
Thanks for the deep respect for Limbaugh. He has about 14 million who listen to him a week. I am sure a chunk of that are crazed libs.
The Republican Party is much larger than that.
But I am OK if Democrats want to placed Limbaugh on the same level as Obama.
It would be like Bush saying that Al Franken was his equal opponent. LOL......
Go for it!!!!! It makes Obama look silly.
The Democrats are just upset that their horrible Air America network is hopelessly doomed. How come their is no viable and profitable left-wing talker out there?
"LOL.....gmag39, ksand99, theBs, Phil and many Democrats want to say Limbaugh is equal to Obama."
Awwwwww! Someone's upset no one is taking his bait, so he's putting words into their mouths. Pathetic.
Gable, I'd say, as a general rule, the Dems left AM radio behind a long time ago. We've entered the digital age. It's fitting that most of that puerile garbage remains in the AM ghetto.
Let's review this particular thread, shall we? The person comparing Limbaugh to Obama was Nance. Not me, not gmag39, not ksand99, not Phil, etc.
Limbaugh is currently the only coherent voice on the right. No one else has stepped up. Steele had to swallow his pride and apologize to Limbaugh. Limbaugh's running the party, and is widely disliked.
If you think this is good for the Republican party, I welcome your justification.
FORMER drug addict? Are you sure?? How would we know?? I'm sure he's gotten much more adept at keeping all illegal activities properly concealed by now - if in fact they're still going on (of which I admit I have NO knowledge) What I DO know is that just getting caught doesn't make it any easier to kick the ole drug habit so I'm not convinced when ANY drug addict claims to be 'former'
"Let's review this particular thread, shall we? The person comparing Limbaugh to Obama was Nance. Not me, not gmag39, not ksand99, not Phil, etc.
Limbaugh is currently the only coherent voice on the right."
Wow....great achivement......contradicts himself in the very next sentence.
The people who are promoting that Limbaugh is Obama's equal opponent on the Republican are ...........DEMOCRATS.
LOL, how pathetic.
No one has said Rush is Obama's equal... EXCEPT FOR YOU!
Saying Rush is the only voice on the right doesn't compare him to Obama. DUH! There are many, many voices on the left. If Rush has an equivalent on the left, it's likely Olbermann.
In other words, a blowhard who no one really likes.
You really can't compare someone as universally disliked as Rush Limbaugh to Obama.
I wouldn't even compare Limbaugh to Olbermann. That's a disservice to Olbermann, and I don't even like Olbermann.
Rush has a 6% favorability rating with Dems, and only a 25% favorability rating with independents.
There's no comparing such pathetic ratings with someone with wide-reaching bipartisan support, like Obama.
"Let's review this particular thread, shall we? The person comparing Limbaugh to Obama was Nance. Not me, not gmag39, not ksand99, not Phil, etc."
No - Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi have reduce themselve to attacking a talkshow host to defend their failed redistribution tax, borrow and spending plans.
Did you just hear Gibbs' newsconference telling everybody to call out Rush today. Wow
Thebs said:

Thebs, Rush Limbaugh saved talk radio and probably the AM dial along with it because he makes money, pure and simple. Same for Hannity and Savage. Now, I know you hate America to the core but please tell me something specific that you heard Limbaugh say that was not true. I'll be waiting......
Olbermann? Who watches that anti-American scumbag? He sucked on ESPN too!
jfnance32
You're the only one I hear making a comparison of Limbaugh to Obama which is, as usual for you, a blatant attempt to take attention from the real issues.
I'll go with the fact that President Obama, having graduated from from Harvard magna cum laude, is intellectually head and shoulders above the college dropout Limbaugh who has had a little problem knowing right from wrong.
Does it take a Harvard education to say that America has 57 states like Obama did? If so, Obama overpaid for that Ivy League sheepskin, LMFAO!
It is mainly Democrats, like yourself, (I have not seen one Republican) that are saying that Rush is the leader of the Republican Party.
That is Obama's equal.
It would be like saying Al Franken was the leader of the Democratic Party during Bush's terms.
If you guys want to make the President equal to a radio talk show host then go for it.
Gable,
It's sad that you equate Limbaugh's business "success" as legitimizing his point of view. If that were the case, I'd be frightened to see what you would do if someone more successful than Limbaugh... Paris Hilton, for example, told you how to think.
"Now, I know you hate America to the core but please tell me something specific that you heard Limbaugh say that was not true. I'll be waiting......"
First, attacking my patriotism is both weak and ineffective. It's all too obvious you worship at the altar of Limbaugh with that inefficacious quip. Second, look at what Limbaugh said about Michael J. Fox, and how he claimed Fox was either unmedicated or acting, when Fox was actually suffering from dyskinesia, a result of overmedicating himself.
Would you like more?
Michael J. Fox? Are you kidding me? The Dems used that guy for their own purposes (and Kerry still lost) and you are defending him? Thebs, I know you have been indoctrinated to hate the USA, the family, the church, police, etc. but please don't get on here and spin your dillusion. Go back to your hero worship of Barack Hussein Obama and the trillions of pork slop he is force feeding your mouth.
Does it take a law degree to figure out not to use a name of a city in a negative context?
I guess it must take more than a law degree.
All vast years in the state senate did not teach him much either.
I pray that he stays healthly. God forbid Biden becomes President. Has anybody sent him the number to the Recovery .gov website yet?
jfnance32---- The Biden gaffe was funny, wasnt it? And the Dems like to pund their chest on how they are so more advanced technologically than the Republicans, LMFAO! Biden is a goofball, if he had any brains he'd be dangerous.
Rush's attack on Michael J. Fox was below the belt. It was just a bald faced lie, too. I guess his worshippers around here are willing to swallow that kind of vile rhetoric and ask for more, but the majority of people are much more wise.
Barack Obama is the face of the United States, Dark Gable. Don't be a poor loser.
The Republican Apology Machine:
http://www.dccc.org/content/sorry
It's OK ksand99, you'll suffer too under Obama. Dont be a sore loser about that, K?
Obama has already cost Las Vegas $20-$25 million in his offensive coments about our city. Do you neo-libs enjoy ruining our local economy and the hard-working folks who comprise it?
The only thing I'm "suffering" is the economic devastation wrought by George W. Bush and his crack team of go-along get-along Dittohead republicans in the House and Senate.
I'm sure those Dittoheads, like you, who would write them a blank check and fall in line behind them rather than question their destructive decisions for fear of being called unpatriotic, would like to travel back in time to tell themselves not to hitch themselves to that particular cart.
Or maybe I am overestimating you? Probably.
Oh here we go, more rhetoric from the neo-libs. Congress was controlled by the neo-libs in 2006, and then BOOM, the economy and market start to tank. Hell, February 2009 was one of the worst market drops in history, ALL UNDER THE OBAMA-REID-PELOSI crime family watch. Obama hasn't done s**t to help the economy and you know it, LMFAO!
Yup. Knew I was overestimating you.
Blaming everything on the Democrats? Check!
Giving Bush and his republican lackeys a pass? Check!
Your preciously incompetent understanding of the root cause of our economic troubles is the funniest thing I've read all day. Thanks for the laugh!
The neo-libs need to face facts, Obama is not the right guy for the job. He promised the world and has delivered ZERO, the market continues to tank, jobs continue to be lost, foreclosures are still on the rise and Obama holds parties with Stevie Wonder at the White House while dining on $100 steaks, LOL! Where is the freakin' change you dumb neo-libs???
Homelessness still exists, I thought Obama was going to solve that problem? I guess having conga line parties at the White House is more important, LMFAO!
Wow, more patent incompetence. Obama hasn't turned the economy around in 40-something days!
Now, wasn't it the republicans who kept telling the Democrats that we thought Obama was a "savior" or "God?" Yes, it was.
But now it seems those who criticized Democrats are expecting the same. 40 days to turn the economy around? I can't stop laughing, Dark Gable. You have me in stitches. Please, continue!
The Obama Deception is a hard-hitting film that completely destroys the myth that Barack Obama is working for the best interests of the American people.
The Obama phenomenon is a hoax carefully crafted by the captains of the New World Order. He is being pushed as savior in an attempt to con the American people into accepting global slavery.
We have reached a critical juncture in the New World Order's plans. It's not about Left or Right: it's about a One World Government. The international banks plan to loot the people of the United States and turn them into slaves on a Global Plantation.
Covered in this film: who Obama works for, what lies he has told, and his real agenda. If you want to know the facts and cut through all the hype, this is the film for you.

Obama promised the world, used race as a weapon to divide, and has not solved s**t. The only thing the neo-libs can do is make excuses for him, even Obama's top supporters have no idea what his solutions to any problems are yet.
So all you've got is... propaganda?
New World Order?
Global slavery?
You're a one-man comedy brigade.
ksand99-- All you have is excuses on Obama's sorry performance so far. How long will the excuses continue?
"It wasn't your father's fault that he left, you know. I divorced him. When the two of us got married, your grandparents weren't happy with the idea. But they said okay-they probably couldn't have stopped us anyway, and they eventually came around to the idea that it was the right thing to do. Then Barack's father-your grandfather Hussein-wrote Gramps this long, nasty letter saying that he didn't approve of the marriage. He didn't want the Obama blood sullied by a white woman, he said. Well, you can imagine how Gramps reacted to that. And then there was a problem with your father's first wife"he had told me they were separated, but it was a village wedding, so there was no legal document that could show a divorce"." (From "Dreams Of My Father", by B.H. Obama)
I have no excuses for Obama, but I'm not going to hold him to an unobtainable ideal, like you.
Maybe in your magic world, people can snap their fingers and the world suddenly fixes itself. Out here in reality, outside your padded cell, it doesn't work that way.
But please do not stop telling us about your new world order. It is fascinating.
It took eight years for the republicans to dig this hole. It will take a few years more to climb back out.
ksand99- It's OK that you have no idea what Obama's plans are, neo-libs are all fluff anyway, LMFAO!
This puppy has been brewing more than 8 years.
Clinton is the one who signed all those financial deregulation bills and not Bush.
Clinton was the one who started to pressure the financial institutions to lower lending standards so that minorities could own house. Bush continued that policy.
It was Clinton appointees to the Federal Reserve Board that pressured interest rates to be extremely low.
Clinton started the process. In some respects Bush continued it and some respects should have stopped it.
All that is done.
I hope Obama is successful in fixing this mess.
So far, he has not done anything that looks promising. In fact, he is doing things that look very harmful.
Hopefully, he will pull something out his butt and we will get lucky.
Obama promised "change". All I am doing is calling him on it and holding him accountable. All you are doing is making excuses for his ineffectiveness, LMFAO!
Obama campaigned on false pretenses, his supporters were duped into thinking they would get free health care for example. This has not happened. Obama also promised and campaigned as anti-war. Well, the war in Iraq is still going and he ordered more troops in Afghanistan as well. Another lie from Obama!
"This puppy has been brewing more than 8 years."
Not according to your new buddy, it hasn't.
In fact, he blames all economic problems on the election of Democrats in 2006.
Then he makes crass generalizations about Obama's campaign promises, and declares Obama a failure... even though Obama has around 1400 days left in his term.
So quick to judge. What Gable doesn't understand, however, is that Obama accomplished more in his first 40 days (with the stimulus package) than most Presidents can accomplish in their first term. With the passage of the omnibus spending bill, Obama will remain on track to accomplish many of his goals by the end of his first term.
Reduced taxes for the middle class? Yes. Health care modernization? Yes. Infrastructure spending? Yes. Increasing aggregate demand? Yes. Increasing employment? Yes. Expanding benefits for the unemployed? Yes. Expanding broadband access? Yes. Improving funding for schools and universities? Yes. Increasing funding for renewable energy? Yes.
Just an FYI, Obama called for more troops in Afghanistan during the campaign. A lie? Not at all. For someone who keeps telling me I was "duped," you have no grasp of what Obama actually promised. Not a surprise, really!
It's sad that you're just repeating more Dittohead consipracy theories.
LMFAO! HOW CAN YOU BE ANTI-WAR AND ADD TROOPS???
AND WHERE IS MY FREE HEALTH CARE DAMMIT, LMFAO!
Stock market tanking? Yes.
Appointing tax cheats to his cabinet? Yes.
Promising no support for earmarks and then flip-flopping? Yes.
Giving future generations a huge future financial burden? Yes.
Talking down about lobbyists and then appointing them to his cabinet? Yes.
Obama's pretty clever by attacking Limbaugh to keep the neo-libs eye off the ball.
One of President Obama's major campaign planks was making government more open and accountable. It's a reaction to a habit in Congress of rushing bills through the House and Senate without giving people much opportunity to know what the bills would do. Indeed, sometimes members of Congress don't even know what's in the bills.
So Obama pledged during the campaign to institute "sunlight before signing."
"Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them," Obama's campaign Web site states . "As president, Obama will not sign any nonemergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House Web site for five days."
But the first bill Obama signed into law as president -- the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act -- got no such vetting.
President Obama first proposed a $3,000 tax credit for businesses that add to their payroll when he was campaigning for president and the U.S. economy had taken a serious nosedive. After winning the election and taking office, he began working on a stimulus bill with Congress. But this idea soon stalled and appears to be dead.
It never got any significant support in Congress, even from Democrats. Lawmakers said they were concerned the credit wasn't enough of an incentive to get companies to hire additional workers. Tax policy analysts said the credit would be an administrative nightmare to implement. Companies might eliminate a job and then create it again later in hopes of getting the tax credit.
Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., said at a news conference on Jan. 14, 2009, that both Democrats and Republicans had problems with the measure.
"If you have a company and you're selling fewer shingles, $3,000 isn't going to get you to hire somebody when your sales are shrinking," Schumer said.
The credit was never part of the stimulus legislation as far as we saw, and it was not included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which Obama signed into law on Feb. 17, 2009. Likewise, we see no indication that this idea might re-emerge. So for now, we rate it Promise Broken.
My bad, obviously you find it difficult to understand the difference between the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Maybe you ignored his statements during the campaign, re: Afghanistan. Let me dig up something from last JULY:
"Sen. Barack Obama said Sunday that United States needs to focus on Afghanistan in its battle against terrorism."
"The Afghan government needs to do more. But we have to understand that the situation is precarious and urgent here in Afghanistan. And I believe this has to be our central focus, the central front, on our battle against terrorism," Obama said Sunday on CBS' "Face the Nation."
"I think one of the biggest mistakes we've made strategically after 9/11 was to fail to finish the job here, focus our attention here. We got distracted by Iraq," he said."
"Obama said troop levels must increase in Afghanistan."
"For at least a year now, I have called for two additional brigades, perhaps three," he told CBS. "I think it's very important that we unify command more effectively to coordinate our military activities. But military alone is not going to be enough."
Hey, it seems reading comprehension isn't your game. I mean, obviously, cause you'd rather listen to some pill-popping snoozer on ancient AM radio babble on about the NEW WORLD ORDER in your nuke bunker than engage in reality.
The Omnibus, however, is loaded with earmarks. Obama and the White House could have used the bully pulpit to criticize them. But they have not been very critical, nor have they indicated any attempt to go "line by line" through the bill to look for wasteful programs, as Obama pledged during the campaign.
Administration budget chief Peter Orszag said, "We want to just move on. Let's get this bill done, get it into law and move forward."
Yay, let's play the "I want it both ways" game.
First, I'll criticize Obama for not being speedy enough. I'll demand the entire economy be corrected in his first 40 days.
Then, I'll turn around and criticize Obama for not delaying the bill enough.
What, those two ideas are completely contradictory? I'm criticizing myself? Someone let Dark Gable in on the secret.
"I have made a solemn pledge that I will sign a universal health care bill into law by the end of my first term as president that will cover every American and cut the cost of a typical family's premium by up to $2,500 a year."
-- Hartford, Conn.
JUNE 23, 2007 - Barry Hussein Obama
So Obama is not anti-war? Then why does he campaign that way?
Key phrase: "by the end of my first term as president"
He's got 1400 more days, Gable.
"So Obama is not anti-war? Then why does he campaign that way?"
Yes, we've established that you didn't listen to a word he said. Why you have to continue to remind us of your ignorance? I have no idea.
The anti-war crowd latched themselves onto Obama, that's a fact. They guy then proceeds to send in more troops to Afghanistan. You cannot have it both ways, ksand99.
Bottom line, Obama hasnt done s**t so far, his supporters only have excuses and that is what Obama really is deep down, a big f*****g excuse. His minions will always be there to make an excuse to why he has not delivered on his "change" promise.
good to see all the kool-aid drinking Obama lovers show up.
If Rush is so dangerous why do the Libs keep talking about him. Wouldn't you think they would ignore him and marginalize him? No! They fear the truth.
They would rather install a socialist with give-aways than face the truth.
They have a "you had your turn, now it's our turn" mentality. They could care less about the country as long as their Savior is in.
We live in America not Amerika, if you don't like Rush turn the channel to a Lib on the radio. Oops, sorry can't find one.
Obama is the first Affirmative Action president and still his supporters spit on Amerca at every turn. It's f*****g amazing!
"The anti-war crowd latched themselves onto Obama, that's a fact. They guy then proceeds to send in more troops to Afghanistan. You cannot have it both ways, ksand99."
"They guy?" So you can't even type correctly, let alone setup a valid argument? Got it.
Obama said months before the election that he intended to increase the troop level in Afghanistan. Your assertion that he "lied" was 100% false, as proven by my quote.
And didn't he just announce his timeline for withdrawal from Iraq? And didn't it follow his rhetoric on the campaign trail? Yup.
If this is the best you can do, I won't even bother replying. You're not worth my time.
"Obama is the first Affirmative Action president and still his supporters spit on Amerca at every turn. It's f*****g amazing!"
Where is this mythical 'Amerca?' You "spit on your country" when you can't even type its name right. LOL!
Barry and Michelle Obama have hated America ever since college. Yet, this is the same country that made them millionaires. You cannot have it both ways ksand99. I know you hate the country too, please leave if America is so bad for you.
The response demonstrates an aversion to allowing opposing views at best and a disturbing and continuing attempt to stifle free speech.
However, Democrats have done more to boost the ratings of Rush Limbaugh in the past two weeks than any ad campaign could have hoped to do. The potrayal of Limbaugh as leader of the Republican Party and the organized attacks are another example of the Illinois politics that permeate the Obama administration.
Jonathan, if top democrats believe they have struck political gold by going after Rush, I can assure you, it's fools gold. Rush knows more about democrats (i.e. what they are going to do and say) than democrats know about themselves. Remember Harry Reid and the phony soldier episode? As I recall, Rush made Reid look exactly like an idiot.
Rush took the democrats to the woodshed Saturday night at the CPAC conference and they are still smarting. Michael Steele's backside is also smarting a little too. Not necessarily because of anything Rush said, but because Rush was absolutely correct. Steele was doing nothing more than pandering to D.L. Hugley and his audience and did a very poor job at it.
Here's what's funny. As soon as Obama's Socialist policies suck all of the money and enthusiasm out of all of the "workers" in this country, there will be no one to pay the bills. Ask Politico to get the Dems in Congress to check their ratings and popularity and compare to Rush. And just because you might not be popular does not mean you aren't right.
Why are you posting your replies to Jonathan Martin on the Sun's website? Or are you copy/pasting others' words in desperation?

In 2003, 500 rounds of chemical munitions were found; a small cache by US standards but still just as deadly. In early 2008, 550 metric tons of yellowcake were removed from Iraq and shipped to Canada. Criticizing the war was hypocritical on the side of the anyone who voted to use force, and then immediately started the criticism when the force was used. There was no rush to go into Iraq (Al Qaeda in Iraq was there long before the coalition went in; and, no, there is no evidence to support that they had and part in 9/11 (except maybe acquiesence); it was well over 17 months after 9/11.
I can assure you no buddies of President Bush were running Fannie and Freddie. Those were some of the main ring-leaders of the sub-prime problem. Some of their biggest cheerleaders were Barney Frank and Chris Dodd - not known to be supporters of President Bush. Those two folks were also some of the largest recipients of campaign funds from Fannie and Freddie.
The managements of Fannie and Freddie did a wonderful "job" on the mortgage markets.

What's up, dude? Why plagiarize someone else's words as your own?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090304/ap_e...
Why are Democants so worried about Rush Limbaugh? If he is so irrelevant, why is this spat a big deal? I thought Obama was a uniter.
Guess not.
That is a good link: http://dyn.politico.com/members/forums/t...
It shows that White House are good puppet masters.
They have pulled the strings of theBS, Phil, ksand99 and countless other kool-aid drinkers and having them all flapping their jaws saying that Rush is the leader of Republicans.
Funny...Democrats telling Republicans who their is.
Go blindly follow your Messiah.....your puppet master.
I see, it's the "throw everything at the wall in a frantic attempt to get something to stick" method of argumentation?
Sounds kinda desperate to me.
I'd say, if one can't even write their own arguments, they should stay far, far away from a computer.
jfNance32, this is more your style:
http://bit.ly/11OFrv
Your puppet master is calling......
We're just poking fun at the imcompetence and disorganization of your party, jfNance32. Don't take it so personal. It'll be ok! Maybe Sanford or Cantor will step up to lead. As it is, you have this guy who is reviled among independents. And you guys just keep letting him incite more hatred and rage...
I guess you guys didn't realize how that approach failed to get McCain elected. Even with hindsight, the republicans just don't get it.
When your RNC chairman is sending an AM talk radio host Valentines letters of apology, you know the republican party has gone completely off the rails!
In the event this IS a democratic strategy, to keep rush in the forefront of republican fodder,
it is a BRILLIANT strategical move.
There is perhaps no man alive today who can compete with rush as a polarizing figure. He has honed that skill and purposefully and successfully uses it for entertainment value. He is an instigator. And a cartoonish figure.
Rush's head is so inflated right now with all this talk of him being the "de-facto leader of the republican party" that he actually believes it now himself. FUNNY STUFF!
No candidate backed by rush limbaugh, including the fat man himself, will win future elections in the USA. THAT is why it's a wonderful democratic strategy; assuming that's what it is.
He wants Obama to fail and people call that unpatriotic. That's funny. His policies are dangerous and I also hope he fails at implementing them. If the vast majority of Germans in 1933 would have demanded that Hitler fail - well, you know the rest.
Unpatriotic? You need to come up with another word for defending the ideals on which this nation was founded.
Yeah boy, larry5, it IS dangerous;
muslim lovin' foreign born no-talent nation-wrecker!!! As President??? Holy Cow, we COULD have another Hitler-type deal here, you betcha.
And a Socialist to boot??? What have we wrought
Larry!!!???
I love the Hitler comparison. Always identifies the commenter as an absolute loon.
Did Hitler galvanize Germany with his speeches? Yes. Does Obama galvanize the United States with his speeches? Yes.
Am I supposed to draw some conclusion from that? Should I be expecting Obama to announce plans for concentration camps? Was that a part of the stimulus package? Are we going to invade Canada and Mexico?
You know who else gave great speeches? Reagan.
Also, JFK, Lincoln, etc. If anything, being a great speaker means you're more likely to be named a leader, not that you'll lead a nation into genocide.
Did Reagan lead us into genocide? No. Neither did JFK or Lincoln. Please, if you don't want us to openly laugh at you, stop comparing Obama to Hitler.
Hey dark and jf what are you guys going to do when Obama suceeds? the new repub theme song nana, nana, hey hey hey, good bye!!
If you felt I made a comparison between Hitler and Obama, you might want to re-read the post. The comparison was between the German people and the Obama worshipers.
If you feel your leaders are taking you down the wrong path, do you support them simply because they are your leaders?
If you are an Obama supporter there's a good likelihood you felt Bush's policies were wrong and you wanted those policies to fail.
Please, if you don't want us to openly laugh at you, try to read and understand a post before you reply.
Rush must really scare the neo-libs for them to be focused so much on him and not the economy.
oh yeah, the "neo-libs" are just like the "German People", "Obama Worshipers" are like "nutso" right? Darn wierdos! Hey, if ya like rush, with his big fat hairy chest and man-boobs starin' back atcha, YOU MUST watch highlights from the other day, at that CPAC
deal, where he was speakin'? Ya, he looked like a real big mafia wise-guy or somethin. Handsome as the devil. And just as charming! Yep, he'll scare the pants right off ya.
Here's my favorite quote on this post - so far:
"It's sad that you equate Limbaugh's business "success" as legitimizing his point of view. If that were the case, I'd be frightened to see what you would do if someone more successful than Limbaugh... Paris Hilton, for example, told you how to think."
Makes sense - I see how those who consider Ms Hilton to be highly successful would be under Obama's spell as well.
Nobody really listens to Obama anyway.
He used words "Las Vegas" in a negative context.
If he was really had a following like Hilter than companies left and right would have canceled their plans to go to Vegas.
"Makes sense - I see how those who consider Ms Hilton to be highly successful would be under Obama's spell as well."
Well, you'd be wise to recognize the context of that statement, as I qualified it as "business success." In terms of a business success, it's beyond doubt that Paris Hilton, as few talents as she does possess, has parlayed something as meaningless as name recognition into wealth. What does she do? Nothing, yet she's earned millions from being herself.
Also successful, in a business sense? The Olsen Twins. Business success aside, does that kind of acumen give their statements any more legitimacy? No.
I'm surprised you'd take issue with such a statement. If you're just looking to worship the wealthiest blowhard, George Soros is always looking for a follower or two.
Larry, I can't help the fact that you assumed I was talking about you. I've looked over my post, you were never named, nor did I allude to you. I was speaking broadly, as several neocon wingnuts around here love to compare Obama to Hitler based on oratorical skills alone. My post was a response to gmag39.
You breathe air. So did Hitler, ergo: you must be just like Hitler. It's lazy lawyering of the worst kind. (AKA, it's a NVMakz-ism. Oh, I forgot, he's "OnTheMark" now. LOL)
You might take a few minutes to research 'reductio ad Hitlerum' and Godwin's Law.
If I was talking to you, you would know. I don't shy away from confrontation. Ask Nance. Also ask him: Who the heck is Hilter, and why doesn't he spell check?
OK, thebs. Your comments were posted right after my post which mentioned Hitler - so I was certain they were directed at me.
You made the comments so you'd know the intended direction - my assumption was obviously incorrect.
Thank you for the clarification.
LOL...theBs called gmag a neocon wingnut.
Lush Bimbo talking about ANYONE either OVER-medicating or UNDER-medicating - is like the pot calling the kettle black.
jfnance32 again out of touch with reality...Obama in office 42 days and has to clean up 8 years worth of decite, wars, largest deficit in history....Bush never veto'd anything when it came to tax and spend...repub controlled congress 6 outta 8 years...why didn't they do anything? Too busy spending our tax dollars.
I love when oxycotton Rush opens his big pie -hole, just makes the consv. and neo-cons look worse than they are, now the repubs and Rush are fighting over his mouth...I love it when the repubs eat their own....who won again?
lassen122 typifies Obama koolaid drinkers by making excuses for Obama's failures. Either he can do the job or he can't lassen, how long are you going to keep up with the excuses?
I see the market is down over 200 pts. so far today, what is Obama's plan to solve this crisis? Oh wait, maybe in 10 years we'll know, right Obama disciples?
commonsense, your name belies your writings.
Let me try this in an age-appropriate format.
USA=Humpty Dumpty.
Bush, rove, Cheney, et.al.=All The Kings Horses and All The Kings Men.
The date: January 20th.
Enter Obama. Humpty is on the ground in pieces.
It will take a lot of time, effort and sacrifice
to put ol' Humpty Dumpty back together again.
Ah gmag39, thank you for only confirming my beliefs. The whole Obama game plan will revolve around "it takes time" for things to turn around. Pretty clever excuse, this way you can say, "Well it will take 2 terms to do this". Meanwhile, the market continues to tank and Obama is leaving future generations with trillions of debt. But change is a coming, right?
Gmag.....are you a neocon wingnut?
CommonSense09, please explain a solution that would immediately turn things around and bring the value of Las Vegas homes up 50%.
If you cannot do that, and I'm quite sure you cannot, the ground falls out from underneath your criticism.
Welcome to the real world.
gmag,
Nice try on the humpty dumpty thing. When the Messiah says "no more pork", "transparency" and "change we can believe in", was that only for true believers or all Americans.
When he signs this spending bill that just passed didn't he violate all three items.
I know he's saying that was last years stuffffff.
At what point does he become this years President?
Keep supporting this clown and we can send the bills directly to you. Now he wants wants ME to fund idiots with bad mortgages. What's next idiots who can't afford their cars or a pool boy or lawn care.
I am glad he uses 10 pens to sign his name. He wants to save money, buy a bic pen and use it over and over. This is such crap.
Keep hammering Rush and ignore the idiot behind the curtain (Obama) and things will get better, man what a joke.
ksand,
NOTHING will turn the housing market around that fast.
Since my house is paid for, I guess I am going to take a loan out on it and default since Obamama is coming to save me.
Do you guys actually believe the jibberish you post. Good luck with reality..... it's on the way.
getalife, we agree that a turnaround cannot and will not be instantaneous. It's beyond reality, and an argument against Obama (that has been repeated several times on this comment page) that somehow criticizes him because the "solution" has not already worked is pathetically disingenuous.
nance; YES! I ADMIT IT! I AM A CLOSET NEO-CON!
getalife; you are doing a wonderful job "representing" the NEO-CON THOUGHT PROCESS.
Keep up the good work, son. YOU SIR, are a credit to the cause.
p.s.. LOVE your cliche's. "Obamamama" & "Messiah" are particularly effective. Keep hammering on those. I like it a LOT.
Also, you are quite adept, if I may say, at the putdown. "stupid", "moron", idiot", "clown", well, you have quite a way with the big words, and I applaud your efforts. You a Yale man by any chance? Just a thought. Cheerleader, maybe.
From a mold, is what I'm thinking here. You have a bright future in the party, young man. Hone your skills, boy!
p.p.s. that "10 pens to sign his name" bombshell is going to be the next catch-phrase that sticks. We can use it. I'll run it up to Rush & see if he salutes.
GR8WRK!!!
gmag,
Thanks for the props. I am laughing so hard I am going to need a bail-out in my shorts.
Yea! Rush is irrelevant! Yucca is dead! Go Mr. Obama! I love Nevada. Go Yucca!
Rush is the leader of the Republican Party as much as Bill Maher, Jon Daly, or Whoopi Goldberg is the leader of the Democratic Party. Get real, people. The Republicans don't need to follow the Obama model of electing a personality. They just need to return to their principles that they abandoned. I seriously doubt they can. Instead, they should be pursuing constitutional amendments on things like: a balanced federal budget, elimination of unfunded federal mandates, allowing spending bills that are limited to only one subject. Republicans don't need to try to become Democrats, they need to learn what it means to be a Republican. Obviously, they've forgotten.
Why do the Rush ditto heads write as though they've all contracted a terminal case of swampass?
All Obama supporters do is make excuses.
It's kinda hard to indict someone's character when you've been exposed as plagiarizing posts from Politico.
Tell me: those words in your latest post, are they yours? Or did you just copy/paste them from elsewhere?
The stock market keeps dropping and Obama is doing nothing baout it...wow, some change.
All Obama sheeple do is make excuses for him or dodge the questions about him. It' like no one is allowed to question Messiah Obama about anything. People are going hungry every night on Obama's watch and he aint doing s**t about it!!
With all due respect Mr. President, your "Era of New Responsibility" is nothing more than a continuation of the Bush administration Era of Irresponsibility. Mr. President, we hoped for more and deserved more. Yet, behind the charade of campaign messages of hope and change, we essentially see the same fiscal irresponsibility and misguided policies as before. Oh sure Mr. President, your budget priorities have shifted a bit, sadly the irresponsible spending did not.
And what Gable would you do to stop the stock market from falling? Also claiming Obama is an affirmative action president is borderline racist and pretty dumb.
There it is, you cannot criticize Obama for fear of being a "racist". So chalk up yet another excuse for Obama's minions.
well commonsense, saying that he was an affirmative action president isn't a valid complaint and it is racist by implying that Obama didn't earn his way in. Instead the US I guess had to fill a minority quota for high office. Gee that doesn't sound racist and dumb. Next question?
Another excuse from an Obama minion, LOL! I guess now we cannot say anything negative about Obama at all because of race, way to squash free speech!
No I didn't say that. I said that claiming he's an affirmative action president means
1) There were more qualified applicants than him, but he was chosen because of his race.
2) That there's some kind of incentive for electing minorities other than giving them representation.
3) That there's some kind of quota for minorities in government that someone felt had to be filled.
4) That he isn't qualified based on his race.
And fyi you can criticize him all you want, but it needs to be relevant and not some racist rant. Complain about his health care ideas, mortgage solutions, tax concepts, you know relevant facets of government.
Trying to claim that he was an affirmative action pick is irrelevant, illogical, and overall not productive to moving forward a solution to the recession. But by all means commonsense, just sit back and bicker about nonissues and sling bricks at him instead of offering solutions. That way when policies fail all you can say is well I thought it would fail but I had no real idea about what else to do. Go the party of No!
People don't you have anything better to do. The problems we face are American problems. The blame game is so out of control. Harry Reid and the Democrats controlled Congress when this disaster developed and George Bush and the Republicans controlled the administration. This is a bipartisan mess. We need to solve the problems. I honestly think many of the people writing would rather see the country go down the tubes so they can blame Democrats. This is insane.
So if someone advabces because of Affirmative Action it is "racist" to acknowledge that? Wow, you neo-libs have really gone off the rails haven't you?
No dark Gable you just can't think for yourself. Affirmative Action means that you intentionally hire somebody because of their minority status. That wasn't the case with Obama, but your racist attitude can't think like that. You think that he was ONLY elected because of his race. That sir is racism. You need another lesson in what words mean, or should I just point you over to a dictionary?
