A Clark County grand jury indicted former Garrett Junior High School teacher Charles Richard Rogers on 76 counts of sexual assault of a minor, lewdness with a child, use of children in pornography and possession of child pornography.
He is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. July 2 in Clark County District Court.
Rogers, who remains in the Clark County Detention Center on $1.3 million bail, was arrested March 26 after police received a computer storage device containing child pornography that allegedly had come from his home.
He was released from Clark County School District employment on June 10, spokeswoman Penny Ramos-Bennett said. She could not say whether he was fired or quit.
During a search, police found video, computer files and magazines containing child pornography at his home and in his science classroom at Garrett, police said.
The indictment included two counts of sexual assault of a minor, four counts of use of a minor in pornography, 17 counts of lewdness with a child under 14, 50 counts of possession of child pornography, one count of open and gross lewdness, one count of attempted lewdness with a minor under 14 and one count of child abuse and neglect.
The indictment lists incidents from 1999 through 2009 and names seven victims. It also notes the identities of several children appearing in the pornography are unknown.
Rogers’ attorney, Bill Terry, declined to comment.

This cannot be true. All members of the teacher's union are good people that ONLY think of the good for the children. This must be a right wing plot to discredit teachers.
This is indictment strikes me as being a bit late -- like closing the gate to the corral after all the stock got out.
This man stayed under the radar for yrs. The school district nor the city had any formal complains against him during the time he worked for them (so it's been reported)I'm just glad he's being brought to justice now... it should NEVER be too late to stop a predator
