Republican leaders show no self-control

The Las Vegas Sun needs to publish a public service announcement for the wives of any Republicans considering running for president in 2012. It seems that the mere idea of running for president is enough to cause infidelity.

First, there was our very own Sen. John Ensign and now we read that South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford has just confessed. How long will it be before all those hats and buttons that said “Sanford for President” are on sale on eBay?

I’m so glad I’m married to a Democrat.

Hey Sandy >>>>> I did not know that the Democrats had the moral high ground advantage over the Republicans you know like not cheating on there spouse or not cheating on there taxes or just accepting hollywood values. Im sure that Ted Kennedys wife is happy that she too is married to a Democrat, And yes lets not forget about Elizabeth Edwards and her wonderful husband John and his love child, Or how happy Hillary is with Bill. IM SO GLAD THAT YOU CLEARED THAT UP FOR US.

When you find another woman's panties under the seat in your husband's car, if you choose to believe his story that he's collecting clothing for the poor like a good Democrat, you have my deepest sympathy.

The legion of conservative politicians currently "in crisis" have set themselves up for their respective falls from grace by virtue of their sanctimonious, holier than thou platforms. Honestly, we lib's don't CARE who y'all boink. But you cannot have your cake and "eat it too".
And, of course, the spectacular ways in which they have blown themselves up has been, you MUST admit, absolutely COMICAL.

Arguing about whether Democrats or Republicans have the lead in sex scandals is juvenile, but funny, so please, keep it up.
IMO Ensign's situation, due to his setting himself up as a "Promise Keeper" is the only case that merits further scrutiny due to the degree of hypocrisy he exhibited. Troubling!
The rest of them have low sexual morals and some problems with honesty. Judge them on that.
FYI since 1970 the Dems hold a 2 sex scandal edge over the Republicans. Go G.O.P.!

John Edwards was a serious candidate for President and was the nominee for Vice President. All men can fail, the Republicans are just pointed out because the party has a platform of proper behavior. The democrats plan on failing, like Barney Frank having a prostitution ring run from his home by his lover, so they don't have any reason to be apologetic when they are caught.

Edwards deserves all he gets because he was not up front with his wife who was in a bad situation to begin with. They both deserve a bit of a pass due to the hardship of losing a child which is usually devastating to a marriage.

Which party claimed to be the "Moral Majority?" Which party celebrates its "Promise Keepers?" Which party claims its the one with "Family Values?" Which party enshrines bigotry in claiming to defend the "sanctity of marriage?"

The JFK/Monroe conspiracy theory has about as many believers as those who think Dubya brought down the twin towers. No one has the right to tell me they are protecting marriage while cheating on their wife. These d-bags do more harm to marriage than anything else.

My question for both political parties; why do your highest ranking people make such mistakes in their private lives and then expect confidence in their public duty decisions? If you commit political throat cutting on yourself why would you be expected to make wise decisions for our country or state?

It's not the Republicans, it's the Democrats who have been pushing gay rights.
Nevada passes bill giving rights to same sex couples.
Nevada Senator John Ensign exposed as cheating on his wife.
Obama gives rights to Federal Employees who are same sex couples.
South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford cheats on his wife.
Coincidences? I think not.
We are not protecting traditional marriage and therefore traditional marriages are failing.
It's clearly the fault of the "gays" and their Democratic allies.

To say that Republicans who stray are bigger hypocrites than Democrats who do because of their stand on family values in my opinion is just flat wrong. The marriage vows that I am familiar with promise love, honor, faithful and so on. Anyone who strays is a hypocrite. Anyone who is charged with leading this country who can't even stay faithful to their spouse should step down. That person can't be trusted. There is too much important work to be done, work that shouldn't be done by someone who is now lying to his family and country.

This issue is a really simple one - talk the talk, then walk the walk. And if you can't back it up, people are not going to be kind.

This is a premise that permeates throughout life.

Hotshot salesperson shoots off their mouth about their closing skills...they are first to get fired if they don't close any deals.

Athlete runs his mouth prior to game about opponent...better back it up on the field/court, otherwise you will be singled out as a punk who cannot back up their trash talk.

Radio talk show host says all drug users should be thrown in jail for life...talk show host better keep his nose clean otherwise he no longer has any credibility.

Politician runs on family values, traditional marriage values, promise keeper values...better keep it in your pants, otherwise people are gonna single you out as a hypocrite.

Nobody likes a big talker who can't back it up. Politics, sports, life. Simple.
