Fatal accident

A man who died after a collision between a bicycle and a motorcycle about 9:30 p.m. Sunday has been identified as 46-year-old Charles O. Morgan.

The Clark County Coroner's Office said Morgan's death was accidental and he died of several blunt force injuries after a collision with a motorcycle.

Two other people were injured in the crash in the eastern Las Vegas Valley, Metro Police said.

A 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling north on Hollywood Boulevard toward Vegas Valley Drive struck a man pushing a green Magna 12-speed bicycle who was crossing Hollywood Boulevard in front of the motorcycle, police said.

The motorcycle driver, 46-year-old Michael Hartley of Las Vegas, and his passenger, 42-year-old Kathy Kertesz, along with Morgan slid northwest on the pavement, police said.

Morgan was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center Trauma Unit, police said.

Hartley is in critical condition and Kertesz suffered moderate injuries, police said.

This is the 36th fatal traffic collision in Metro Police jurisdiction this year. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
