Unqualified Palin revealed to all

In a Thursday letter to the editor in the Las Vegas Sun, Malcolm Telloian lamented as to why people keep bashing Sarah Palin. He first states that the Alaska governor “didn’t ask” to be John McCain’s running mate, but because she was asked she felt “honored and accept(ed).”
I have never been asked to perform open heart surgery, and if someone asked me to, I wouldn’t feel honored and accept. You know why? I am grossly unqualified, and more important, I know it. Palin is grossly unqualified to hold a responsible national office, but she doesn’t have the self-realization to understand this.
Remember that Republican presidential nominee John McCain initially wanted Joe Lieberman, not Palin, as his running mate. But Democrats were on such a roll with Barack Obama and the dynamic Democratic National Convention that the Republican Party tried a stunt. That stunt was Palin.
The Republican Party thought so little of the female voter that it believed any disgruntled Hillary Clinton supporter would immediately fall in line with Caribou Barbie just because she wore a skirt. And it was working until two events happened within a 30-day span.
First, McCain brushed off the financial implosion caused by the “no regulation” rulings of the Bush White House by saying that the economy was strong, showing how clueless and unsympathetic he was. Second, someone put a microphone in front of Palin and let her talk, thereby letting the nation know how unqualified she really was.

She once said that you could not go anywhere in her state without going into a 7-11 and seeing people from India working.
She once said that FDR went on TV after the stock market crashed in the late 1920's.
She gave Israel a green light to attack Iran.
She said Obama's adminstration was clueless about the economy.
Oh....I forgot....Biden did all those things.
But you have to admit it was a stroke of genius for BHO to select Biden as his number 2. Even a fence post would look brilliant next to Joe the Dumber.

He got into Yale only because of the "Legacy Program," and he got a slot in the Texas Air National Guard because of his father. You're a lost cause. NO place in my post did I say that "the Republican Party was an off shoot of the Nazi Party." I also said NOTHING about the Confederate states and the make-up of those states politically before or immediately after the Civil War. I did say that few blacks currently belong to the GOP. That's pretty much common knowledge......

Obama's popular vote and electoral college vote was less than Bush's Sr. 1st election or Reagen's 2nd election or Nixon's.
In fact, to find a similar Democrat's winning percentage to those, one has to go all the back to 1964 which is 45 years ago.

While your statement is technically correct, you misrepresent the most important premise - a majority is a majority, regardless of the %. Oh and check it out...Dems have won 4 of last 5 election's popular vote, and Obama had the largest margin of victory since Regan 1984.
So yeah, I'd say the dems feel like they are in a pretty good position at this point with the popular vote. Thanks for playing!!!

Fact is that Gov. Sarah Palin has lots more qualifications to be president of the U.S. than the communist dictator B. Hussein Obama who has absolutely no economic education and no economic experience. At least Sarah Palin has a track record of economic successes, either as city council member, mayor of her small town and as Governor of Alaska. Obama was only a community organizer with the only experience of a speech some years ago according to Hillary Clinton.
Needless to say, that Sarah Palin is definitely not ready to be president of the U.S., as she too has to learn a lot, ... and at least she's able to do so while Obama is stuck in his communist rut and he's just not willing or able to learn anything. Good thing though, Obama will only be in Office for a short time and at the latest by 2012 Republicans will be back in the White House with a capable team.
Sarah Palin has been viciously attacked by the left and by folks who themselves are as unqualified as can be. But Sarah Palin not only has lots of potential to be a very good leader, but she also has the track record to prove it reducing taxes (including property taxes) in Alaska and by distributing the State's wealth to its citizens, while improving Alaska's infrastructure on a broad scale also benefiting the lower 48 with less dependency on foreign energy sources.
Wow! Some of these comments are down right scary!!! I am amazed at some peoples apparent AMNESIA! President Obama is not responsible for the current mess we are in. The majority of the problems were inheireted. We can only hope that as a country we see things begin to turn around.
I also hope that whatever yardstick some of you used to measure the "Bush" years and find anything George Ambush did to be positive and successful- be used to measure the Obama years. Give the man a chance.

To date not a single person in the U.S. has seen a single percentage tax increase. That's an interesting comment considering the fact that it's unclear whether or not the poster in question has actually read both the Constitution and the Federalist Papers. I doubt wegoaxleguard has done that....
The U.S. Constitution is a great document but its not a perfect document. It has had major changes made to it over the last 200+ years, and several parts of the document are always up for debate & disussion.....Which, by the way, isn't always a bad thing...
The Federalist Papers were simply a series of arguments that were made by those who wanted the Constitution ratified.......nothing more.
People such as Alexander Hamilton, who wrote part of the Federalist Papers, wanted our present Constitution ratified with out a Bill of Rights. He felt adding a Bill of Rights wasn't necessary and he was very much afraid that adding a Bill of Rights would give too much power to the people and take power away from the new federal government....
Of course, he was wrong. The new infant Republic needed a Bill of Rights and it's never a bad thing when power is vested in the hands of the people...
Obama received 68% of the electoral vote last November so it appears to me that "THE PEOPLE" were heard loud and clear. Our new president has been in office approximately six months....not enough time to evaluate what he has done in terms of right or wrong.
So in other words, wegoaxleguard, "sit down, shut up" and continue to watch, listen and learn. The lesson is free....

The last time I looked, 51% is a majority......not a strong majority but a majority....
On the other hand, 68% is a clear and resounding majority. I believe most historians consider that a mandate....

Maybe you don't remember the 2000 presidential election when junior had 500,000 less popular votes than his opponent, but yet he became the president.

Ronald Reagen got 59%....wow he won by a super mandate vote!!!!
Nixon got 61%.....wow he won by a super super mandate vote!!!!!!
Before Obama it has been over 30 years for a Democrat to win with more than 50% of the popular vote and it has been over 45 years for a Democrat to win over 51% of the popular vote. I guess it has been a long long long time since a Democrat has even a hint of a mandate win other than a squeaker win by an inch win.

I think it could be argued that a 53% win by the first African-American president could be seen as a mandate.

I think Al Franken being elected to any higher office, let alone the Senate could be seen as a mandate.

I was 18 in 1973 and would have been in Nam save for the luck of the draw, I had a high lottery number. Nixon was a smart, ruthless politician who probably would have made an excellent Sec. of State but was a paranoid sleaze with a god complex. He went to China and completed SALT 1 with the Soviets but had an enemies list, a secret plan to get us out of a war we shouldn't have been in, a corrupt and criminal VP in Spiro and killed hundreds of thousands in secret and illegal bombing raids in Laos and Cambodia. No man is perfect but Nixon was a flawed human being who should never have been elected to the highest office in the land.

I agree that Nixon was a vendictive and paranoid person and was not what we should have had in a president. I was somewhat joking but also serious that he was at least partly responsible for our exit from Vietnam which did save a lot of young men from going.
