Man walks into police HQ, admits killing wife

Friday, July 10, 2009 | 9:42 a.m.

Death investigation

A man walked into Metro Police headquarters this morning and told officers on duty he killed his wife, police spokeswoman Barbara Morgan said.

After receiving the report shortly before 7 a.m., officers responded to the 4400 block of Harris Avenue, which is near the intersection of Bonanza Road and Lamb Boulevard in eastern Las Vegas, and found a woman dead in her bed, Morgan said.

The woman's throat had been slit, Morgan said.

The man, whose name hasn't been released, was taken into custody.

Children and other adults were at the residence, but no one else was harmed, Morgan said. The killing likely stemmed from a domestic violence incident, she said.
