Suspicious death

North Las Vegas Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 70-year-old man found after a landscaper reported an unusual odor coming from the man’s home, the police department announced today.

At about 4:19 p.m. Tuesday, a landscaper flagged down officers to report the odor coming from a home in the 4500 block of Ferrell Street, authorities said. Inside, officers found Reinhard Ehlert, 70, dead.

Ehlert's 2001 maroon Dodge Ram pickup truck is missing, police said. It has Nevada license plate 954 MSW.

Ehlert is described as 6-feet tall and 210 pounds. Police are calling the death suspicious and are asking anyone with more information about Ehlert, his vehicle or the circumstances surrounding his death to contact the North Las Vegas Police Department at 633-9111. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
