Sobriety checkpoint planned Saturday at Lake Mead

Area law enforcement agencies will conduct a sobriety checkpoint Saturday in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area in an effort to nab impaired drivers.

National Park Service rangers will be joined by officers from the Nevada Highway Patrol, Metro Police and the Boulder City Police Department at the checkpoint. Members of the Southern Nevada Agency Partnership Law Enforcement team will also be on-hand.

The DUI checkpoint is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. near Las Vegas Bay on Lakeshore Road.
