California fugitive accused of murder arrested in Las Vegas

Thursday, July 2, 2009 | 2:04 p.m.

U.S. Marshals and Metro Police arrested a Los Angeles fugitive in Las Vegas today.

Members of the Marshals' Nevada Fugitive Investigative Strike Team (FIST) and local police have captured 25-year-old Carl Arline, an alleged gang member wanted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for murder and robbery.

Nevada FIST members found Arline near Pecos Road and Gowan Avenue and caught him after a foot pursuit, said U.S. Marshal Gary Orton of Nevada.

Metro Police uniformed officers assisted in the arrest. Arline is awaiting extradition back to California.

The Nevada FIST is a permanent task force that combines resources and expertise from state, local and federal agencies in a coordinated effort to arrest dangerous and violent fugitives.
