Enterprise Library offers Wii event

The local library will soon give teens a chance to put their racing skills to the test.

Mario Kart Wii will be the featured game during Enterprise Library's Wii Adventures event Feb. 7.

The event, which is designed for teens, will run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the library, 25 E. Shelbourne Ave.

Refreshments will be served and small prizes will be given to game winners.

Young People's Librarian and Children Services Department Head Carol Chambers said this is the first time the Enterprise Library has hosted an event like this.

"We're really excited about it and hope to have more in the future," she said.

"One of the reasons that we're doing the Wii program is to encourage new users to come to the library," she said. "It's a way for them to learn how much fun it is."

Chambers said the goal is to encourage as many children as possible to take advantage of the fun atmosphere of the library and to perhaps check out a book while they're there.

"We even have books about gaming," she said.

Registration for the Wii event is required and may be done in person or over the phone.
