Three Las Vegas residents die in Arizona rollover

Two-vehicle crash kills two teens, 8-year-old boy

Three Las Vegas residents died in the rollover of a 2003 Ford Explorer Sunday afternoon in Arizona, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

The Ford Explorer was traveling northb at about 3:37 p.m. Sunday in the left lane on U.S. 93 about 22 mile south of Wikieup in southeast Mohave County, authorities said.

The Ford's driver lost control for an unknown reason and the Explorer rolled over, colliding with a 2008 Toyota Scion that also was traveling north in the right lane. Both vehicles rolled over and ended up off the pavement to the side of the road.

Seven people were in the Ford and two were in the Toyota, authorities said. Those who died in the Ford Explorer were Leslie S. Rodriguez, 16, Miguel Rodriguez, 16, and Josue Rodriguez, 8, all of Las Vegas.

The driver of the Ford, 37-year-old Leticia Ovando-Deterraza, and passengers Rene Rodriguez, 19, and Aliza Deterraza, 4, also all of Las Vegas, were treated and released from a Kingman, Ariz., medical center. A 3-month-old, Lizet Yareli-Rodriguez, of Las Vegas, was treated and released from a Phoenix area medical center.

The driver of the Toyota, 56-year-old Luigi Sziklay, and passenger Patricia Sziklay, 53, both of Scottsdale, Ariz., received serious injuries and were admitted to a Phoenix medical center.

Miguel Rodriguez was not restrained and was ejected from the Ford Explorer. Luigi Sziklay also wasn't restrained.
