State pulls license of Alzheimer’s home in Henderson

Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 | 3:34 p.m.

CARSON CITY – The state has pulled the license of a home that cared for Alzheimer's patients in Henderson after the owner pleaded guilty to attempted exploitation of the elderly.

The state Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance issued its license revocation to owner Cynthia S. Ramos and administrator Virginia Acoba of the TLC Alzheimer’s Facility, 155 Emden Drive.

Ramos, in a plea agreement, agreed to plead guilty to exploitation and to one count of conspiracy to commit theft. Under the agreement, she was ordered to give up ownership of the home as well as a second home, TLC Alzheimer’s Facility on Skipjack Drive.

The license for facility 2 was relinquished in September and the home was closed. But the license was never surrendered so the bureau took the action to revoke the active license.

Ramos then voluntarily sundered her license in January and there were no residents living in the home.
