New construction permits slowing

Even with a marked slump in home construction in 2008, Clark County still issued permits for more than 12,000 residential units through November — the fifth most of any county in the United States. A permit doesn’t guarantee that a new house or condo development will be built; the charts below show permit declines in the Las Vegas Valley and most other areas where the largest housing expansions were taking place.

  1. Excellent! This means fewer and fewer illegals will remain in Las Vegas as there is no work for them!

    Somehow it seems really dumb to say that when in fact the cost is a horrible economy. I guess some people want them out no matter what the cost is. Too bad for all of us.
