FLASHPOINT:

Culinary chief has no eyes for City Hall

You have to love Las Vegas’ desperation in fighting the Culinary Union’s plan to actually force officials to put that proposed quarter-billion-dollar City Hall on the ballot. This from In Business Las Vegas about Culinary chief D. Taylor: “There is speculation at City Hall that Taylor, a resident of Las Vegas’ Ward 4, might be considering a run for a political office, possibly Larry Brown’s council seat.” Not a chance. Anyone who knows Taylor — and I have known him for a long time — knows he can barely contain his disdain for the state’s politics, that he much prefers the nitty gritty of union organizing. It’s just pathetic that city folks would try to use that as the motivation for the Culinary’s move. It ain’t happening.
