Paul Bosco

Paul Bosco, 84, died Dec. 31 in Henderson.

He was born in Sicily, Italy, to Antonio and Carmela Bosco and was a retired cab driver. The Boulder City resident was a member of Faith Christian Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Francesca Bosco Wolfgang, and son, Antonio Bosco, both of Boulder City; grandchildren Glenn Wolfgang of The Colony, Texas, Daniel De Wick of Boulder City and Andrew and David Bosco of Boulder City; and sister Palmina Bosco of Sicily, Italy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Johanna, and brothers Gaetano, Peter, Francesco and Peppe Bosco.

A memorial service is pending at Faith Christian Church, 1100 Buchanan Blvd.

Christina Daneault

Christina Daneault, 27, of Henderson passed away Jan. 1 in Boulder City.

She was born on June 20, 1981, in Las Vegas to Philip and Angela Zamora.

Christina was a housewife. She had lived in Henderson for three months and had previously resided in Boulder City for one year. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Boulder City.

Christina is survived by her husband of three years, Michael J. Daneault of Henderson; children Dominick, Jason and Destiny, all of Henderson; mother, Angela Cuellar of Boulder City; grandmother, Virginia Brooks of Boulder City; brothers, David Bodon of Henderson, and Eric Meadows and Cameron Cuellar, both of Boulder City.

Funeral services were held Jan. 6 at the Boulder City Assembly of God Church, with interment Jan. 7 at the Boulder City Cemetery.

Donald Gene Doremus, 53, died Jan. 3 in Henderson.

The lifelong Henderson resident was born Feb. 5, 1955 and was a city maintenance coordinator.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, of Henderson; daughters Adina, Alicia and April Doremus of Henderson; mother Doris Thomas of Boulder City; sisters Donna Doremus of Henderson and Diane Jeffalone of Homer, N.Y.

A memorial service will be held 3:30 p.m. Jan. 10 at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway.

Albert Lloyd Gentry, 80, died Dec. 25 in Washington.

A retired soldier who served in the Korean War, he worked for the federal Bureau of Reclamation in Boulder City and Seattle for 20 years. He was an active member of Shriners. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite in Boulder City.

Albert and his wife, Barbara, moved to Washington from Boulder City three years ago to be closer to family.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara, two sons, six step-children, 32 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Services were to be held Jan. 11 at the Masonic Lodge in Federal Way, Wash.

James Monroe Gillis Jr., 63, of Boulder City passed away Jan. 2 in Boulder City.

He was born March 11, 1945, in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

A retired cost accountant, James and his wife, Judy, lived in Boulder City for nine years after moving from Maryland. James was a member of the Boulder City Elks Club.

James is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy Gillis, of Boulder City; sister, Lorraine Combs of Maryland; brother, Gregory Gillis of Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 8 at Boulder City Family Mortuary Chapel, 833 Nevada Way.

Audrey Jean Letro, 78, of Boulder City died Dec. 31.

Born in Elred, Pa., she was active with her family. She attended Calvary Chapel in Boulder City.

She is survived by her daughter Carol Hanson and husband, Rick, of Boulder City; sons David Letro and his wife, Vicki of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; Ed Letro and his wife, Irene, of Davis, Calif.; Fred Letro of Hawaii and Greg Letro and his wife, Donna, of Roseville, Calif.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Ben Hanson and his wife, Laura, and Jacob Hanson of Boulder City; Daniel Hanson and his wife, Jessica, Rachel Grothman and her husband, Daniel, and Ava Grothman of Henderson; Tim Hanson and his wife, Lindsey, of Tacoma, Wash.; Justin Letro and his wife, Trina, David Letro, Mary Letro and Tom Letro of Jacksonville, Fla.; Jamie Alexander of Frenchlick, Idaho; Rebekah Letro of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; Joel Letro, Adele Letro, Jesse Letro, Christina Letro and Danielle Letro of Davis, Calif.; Nathan Letro and his wife, Stephanie, Lilly Letro and Isiah Letro of Hawaii; Emily Letro of Mobile, Ala.; Aleisha Letro of Roseville, Calif.; and Simon Letro and Andrew Letro of Australia; great grandchildren Samantha, Hannah, Payton and Taylor Hanson of Boulder City; Noah, Hayden and Mason Hanson of Henderson; Brielle Alexander of Frenchlick, Idaho; Keenan, Daylon and Rylin Flick of Indiana; and Taylor Letro of Couer D'Alene, Idaho.

A memorial service was held at the Boulder City Cemetery on Jan. 7.

Services for Donald Allen Lyle have been scheduled for 11:20 a.m. Jan. 16 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.

Lyle, 81, died Dec. 22 in Las Vegas.

Paul Royal Millhorn, 70, died Dec. 27.

He was born Feb. 26, 1938, in Lake Oswego, Ore., to George and Aleene Millhorn.

Paul was a bridge player who also loved golf and poker.

Paul is survived by his wife, Denise; sons Michael, Gregory and Douglas; grandchildren Erica, Marissa, Ethan, Matthew, Andrea, Nicolas and Jason; daughters-in-laws Pam, Gabriela and Lisa; and former spouse Patricia Dela Montanya of Dinubu, Calif., who is the mother of their children.

He was preceded by his brother George Jr. and sister Gloria.

A memorial service will be held in California in the spring. Cremation was under the direction of Demaray Funeral Service, Wendell Chapel, in Gooding, Idaho.

Kathryn JoAnne Ruiz, 81, died Dec. 29 in Boulder City.

Known as Jody by family and friends, she was a longtime Boulder City resident.

She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on Jan. 16, 1927. Jody moved to California when she graduated from high school to work for the Western Union. She met and married Manny Ruiz, in Pittsburg, Calif.

She is survived by her son Robin and his wife, Donna, of Boulder City; sister Alene Vieira and her husband, Keith, of Antioch, Calif., and brother Delbert Scoville of Rigby, Idaho; granddaughters Jonnie Dooley of Boulder City, Dawn Pritchard and her husband, Joseph, of Reno, and grandson Christopher Ruiz and his wife, Meghan, of Reno, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Jody was preceded in death by her husband Manny, her sister Maxine Huth and her brother Marvin Scoville.

A private celebration of Jody's life will be held Jan. 17.

Harry van Kampen, 75, died Jan. 1 at a local hospital after an illness.

Born Nov. 26, 1933, in Maarsbergen, the Netherlands, Harry attended seminary for two years before moving from Holland to the United States. He received a visa to the U.S. six years after applying and moved to San Francisco.

He received a bachelor's degree from the University of San Francisco and master's degree in History from the University of California-Berkeley. He worked as a therapist at the Sonoma State Hospital School for developmentally disabled children. He was later a librarian at the prison in Vacaville.

Harry had a great interest in studying and discussing history, psychology, mythology, politics and astrology. He loved animals, as well as hiking and exploring nature in Southern California and Nevada

He moved to Boulder City eight years ago and enjoyed his regular visits to the library and the Coffee Cup.

Harry is survived by his daughter, April, and grandchildren, Nicholas and Anthony. He is also survived by four of his six siblings in the Netherlands.

A funeral liturgy will be held at 8 a.m. Jan. 13 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive.

Doris Mae Walters, 75, died Dec. 31.

A 30-year resident of Boulder City, she was born May 28, 1933, in Centralia, Ill., to Howard and Helen Phillips.

She is survived by her children, Susan, Joycelyn, Carolyn, Forrest and Robert, all of Las Vegas, a twin brother, Jim Phillips, sister Sandra Anderson, of Illinois, 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Services will be held at noon Jan. 10 at Quail Ridge Manor, 1499 Medical Park Drive.
