Sexual assault, robbery suspect sought
Tue, Jan 6, 2009 (2:17 p.m.)
Metro Police officials are asking the public's help in identifying and locating a man suspected in a recent sexual assault and robbery at an apartment complex in eastern Las Vegas.
A woman was robbed and sexually assaulted at gunpoint as she arrived home early on Saturday morning, police said.
The crime occurred in a parking lot of an apartment complex located near the intersection of Lamb Boulevard and Owens Avenue.
The man is described as of medium height and stature, police said. He was last seen wearing a puffy, light-colored (possibly green or gray) jacket without breast pockets but with a hood which wraps around the head in a way which conceals facial features, police said. The accompanying picture shows a similar type of jacket.
Anyone with any information concerning this crime or who may have knowledge of the suspect is asked to call Metro Police Department's sexual assault section at 828-3307 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
Police also remind the public to always be aware of their surroundings and to have their keys out and ready to enter their homes or vehicles.
If possible, always park and walk in well-lit areas. Anyone who sees any type of suspicious person or situation should immediately leave the area and seek assistance, police said.
