Clark County settles airspace lawsuits for $31M

Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 | 4:09 p.m.

The Clark County Commission has agreed to settle airspace restriction lawsuits with two families for $31 million.

The agreement reached Monday settles eminent domain cases with the Mohler family and the Mona family, who each claimed their properties lost value because the county restricted their proposed building projects.

The heights were restricted because of safety concerns near McCarran International Airport.

The Mohlers will get $21 million and the Monas will get $10 million under the agreement.

Attorneys for the families say the settlements are reasonable.
