LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Conversion to metric system would be wise

My son, who is in the Army, lives in Germany. He heard about our president’s stimulus package and asked me why the U.S. doesn’t spend some money on converting to the metric system.

The world has converted to English as the language of money. Why can’t we spend some money to get the United States up to speed?

President Barack Obama is willing to spend our money on supposed change, so why not spend our money on something that will get the next generation of America up to speed with the rest of the world: the metric system!
