MonteLago Village is hosting its inaugural Beer Fest March 14, doubling as a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Southern Nevada.
The event, which runs from 3 to 7 p.m., will feature beers from Buckbean Brewing Company, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Chicago Brewing Company, Boulder Dam Brewing Company and Gordon Biersch Brewery. The Wedge Brothers will provide a backdrop of classic rock.
"I would love to see this become an annual event," MonteLago Village Events Manager Andrea Day said. "It's going to be a lot of fun. In my research, there's no other events in the area like this."
MonteLago Village, which regularly hosts wine tasting, was approached by Buckbean about creating a similar beer-themed event, Day said.
"We of course thought it was a great idea," she said.
In conjunction with Beer Fest, MonteLago Village Resort is offering accommodations for $99, as well as a $125 package that includes two event passes. Regular tickets cost $20 per person.
"It's a great opportunity for beer lovers to come out, experience the beer tasting and enjoy the music in the beautiful setting of MonteLago Village," Day said.
Beer Fest will be followed by the year's first wine tasting on April 11 — another event doubling as a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
