Volunteers to help Habitat for Humanity

Volunteers from the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, Citibank and Youth United will help Habitat for Humanity frame a home in the Silverado area Feb. 14.

Future homeowner Rosa Santana and her three children, Rosabla, Alexander and Cesar, will help with the construction.

Work on the home, which is at 1525 London Porter Court, near Warm Springs Road and Tamarus Street, will run from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Santana and her family expect to occupy the home this summer.

Habitat for Humanity is a not-for-profit organization that builds housing for working families that might otherwise be forced to live in substandard housing.

Meditative dance classes to be offered

The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension will offer "Dance Your Essence Fridays" beginning Feb. 13.

Each week the music and the theme will be different and will incorporate a journey of breath, movement and relationship while encompassing the five rhythms of flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness.

Classes begin run 7 to 9 p.m. and will be held Feb. 13 and 20; March 6 and 20; April 3 and 17; and May 1 and 15.
