Some people get lucky in Las Vegas Strip resort casinos, but one woman escaped with her life after the car she was driving broke through a fifth-floor garage barricade Monday morning, Metro Police said.
About 11:30 a.m. Monday the woman went to apply the brakes, but instead hit the accelerator, which propelled her vehicle through a concrete barricade on the fifth floor of the Harrah's parking garage on the Las Vegas Strip, Metro Police Officer Jay Rivera said.
The woman was able to escape while the two front wheels of the vehicle teetered on the edge of the concrete garage floor, he said.
"It was just like out of the movies," Rivera said.
A tow truck safely saved the car from plunging off the garage, Rivera said, and the woman was not cited for any traffic infraction. Police did not identify the driver.

Lucky idiot.
What kind of car was it??? What was her race??? Like some other dorks ask every time something happens.
The better question is how do you accidentally push the accelerator instead of the brake?? You hear of these accidents all the time . Personally, I never get the two confused.
How can the human race ever evolve if we continue to put up safety barriers?
They should have left it, for tourists on the strip to gawk at.
to gambla1823: When you get to that "age" left,right,forward,backward.....brake,accelerator
it all gets a bit fuzzy. Count your blessings you're not there "yet"....but call me when you do...so I can get off the road in time. Note my username.. I'm on the down slop now...my day isn't far off. (grin). But when it is...I hope I have the sense to turn in my license. Lucky for her...her heart held up,not sure mine would have after that situation.
It took the sting out of losing all of her money just minutes earlier.
A very dramatic way to make a loser suddenly feel like a winner after all.
