Updated Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 | 6:23 p.m.

Three more Boulder City residents entered the City Council race today, the last day of filing for the June municipal elections. That brought the total to 10 candidates for the two open seats.

Former City Councilman Bill Smith entered the race within the final hour of filing. In addition, Chris Gatlin, who owns a local painting and trailer rental business, and Jim Reed, a retired Boulder City Police filed for candidacy today.

Other candidates in the council race include:

  • Cam Walker, a project development director.
  • Tim Clifford, a business consultant and former general contractor.
  • Joe Roche, who runs a recycling business.
  • Matt DiTeresa, an operating engineer.
  • Anthony Pakula, who retired from Hoover Dam, filed.
  • Planning Commissioner John Schleppegrell.
  • Former Boulder City Library Director Duncan McCoy.

The two open seats are currently held by Mike Pacini, who is not eligible to run again because of term limits, and Andrea Anderson, who is completing her second four-year term.

Candidates must be a resident of Boulder City for at least two years before the election and hold no other elected office.

Information about all of the candidates is available on the city’s Web site, www.bcnv.org/elections.
