Metro Police homicide detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying a possible witness after a man was found shot to death in an alley near UNLV on Jan. 28.

The victim found near an apartment complex in the 5100 block of Golden Avenue has been identified as 26-year-old Emanuel T. Bowie of Las Vegas, the Clark County Coroner's Office said.

It is believed the man who was shot had argued with other people before the shooting, police said. The cause of his death was a gunshot wound to the head, a coroner's spokeswoman said.

Police are searching for a possible witness, identified as 5-foot-10-inches to 6-feet tall in his mid to late 20s with braided hair. He was seen wearing a blue New York Yankees jacket with blue jeans and white and black tennis shoes, police said. A large cross can be seen around his neck, detectives said.

The witness being sought was seen in the area at the time of the shooting, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the homicide is being asked to call the Metro Police Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
