A Henderson man died Sunday after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a sign post near the intersection of Interstate 15 and St. Rose Parkway.
Nathan Lopez, 37, was traveling northbound on Interstate 15 at about 2 p.m. when he took the offramp to head eastbound on St. Rose Parkway.
Lopez exited the freeway too fast, said Trooper Kevin Honea of the Nevada Highway Patrol. His Harley-Davidson veered off the road and into a gravel area.
Lopez struck a signpost and was thrown from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was wearing a helmet, Honea said, although it did not cover his face.
