Cha Cha Cha Apartments
A fire at the Cha Cha Cha Apartments in Henderson today caused a stir in the 124-unit complex, but resulted in no injuries or major damage.
The fire broke out on the patio of a second-story, two-bedroom unit and consumed artificial plants and patio furniture, said Susie Cole, apartment manager.
The apartments are located at 640 E. Horizon Drive, near the College of Southern Nevada.
A husband and wife lived in the apartment, Cole said, although neither was home at the time of the fire.
Units from both the Henderson and Clark County fire departments responded to the complex near the corner of Horizon Drive and College Drive at approximately 1:25 p.m. and doused the blaze within five minutes, Cole said.
“One of our residents ran into my office and told me that someone’s patio was on fire,” Cole said. “I called 911 on my cordless phone as I was running toward that unit.”
The patio doors and windows will have to be replaced, Cole said, but the couple should be able to move back in.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Cole said. The only other fire in the 14-year history of the Cha Cha Cha Apartments was in 2005, when an early-morning blaze caused by fireworks consumed an entire apartment unit.
