CARSON CITY – Heavy snowfall has resulted in the closure of state offices in Northern Nevada.
Gov. Jim Gibbons said all non-essential workers should go home or not come into their offices.
He said agency supervisors will interpret the meaning of “non-essential positions.”
For instance, the state Department of Motor Vehicles closed its offices at noon.
No state elected officials showed up for work at their offices in the Capitol this morning.

Great ski conditions at Lake Tahoe!
Wonderful. If the useless government dregs can't work (work-that's a laugh) they can't be screwing the citizens. Fire all of them.

I'm quite sure they love you too.
Northern Nevada gets the type of snow that we got today (a foot or more at the valley level) once every five years or so. To say that people here are used to it is an overstatement.
And Carson got close to 18 inches, by the way, not 6-12.
I am not from Nevada or Las Vegas- But i Really would Like to know- Could North Vegas maybe get same snow? For my Friend Robin, so she can have a white Christmas, or am i asking for too much!
But i will pray for her, she is an amazing Lady, i Love her deary, from the bottom of my heart.
God bless! to you all. :0)
