Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 | 10:43 p.m.

The Findlay Prep basketball team got 17 points and 13 rebounds Saturday night from Texas-commit Tristan Thompson in a 78-41 victory against Our Savior New American of New York in the Pilots final game at Marshall County Hoopfest in Kentucky.

Cory Joseph added 15 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals as the defending national champion Pilots improved to 10-0 with their 43rd straight victory.

Senior Godwin Okonji added nine points and 15 rebounds, while Nick Johnson had 17 points and eight rebounds. Jabari Brown finished with 16 points and five assists.

Findlay opened the event Friday with an 80-64 victory against Christ School of North Carolina — arguably the toughest team the Pilots have faced this year.

Joseph’s 22 points, eight rebounds and seven assists led the way, and Thompson followed with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson added 17 points and seven rebounds.

Findlay returns to action at 8 p.m. next Saturday against Bishop Gorman High, the defending Nevada state champions, at the Orleans Arena.
