LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Palin craze puzzling, given ’08 disaster

Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009 | 2:04 a.m.

After reading other letter writers’ recent defense of Sarah Palin, I wonder: Why? As we have seen, the then-vice presidential nominee of the Republican Party was instrumental in sinking the GOP’s presidential hopes in the 2008 election. Even some of John McCain’s advisers have admitted this.

The woman has a limited, non-stellar education, a la former President George W. Bush and ex-Vice President Dick Cheney. Her inability to deal with simple questions during last year’s interview with Katie Couric and an inability to answer any queries as to her capability to be considered a serious political contender in 2008 disqualify her from any contention in 2012. And don’t forget how talk show host Rush Limbaugh gushes over this woman.

Suffice it to say, Palin is in it for the limelight and, most of all, for the financial gain. As a liberal, I cannot help but wish her well as she attempts to define the conservatives’ hopes to regain the power left in the Bush vacuum.

Meanwhile, President Barack Obama must clean up the mess he inherited from the previous eight years of incompetence. We should all stand behind him.
