Boulder City Police have arrested a girl after reports of sexual assault and lewdness with another minor were reported at St. Jude's Ranch for Children.
Officers received a call about 12:10 p.m. Monday and interviewed several people at St. Jude's, a temporary home and shelter for abandoned and abused children, police said.
A girl whose age was not revealed was arrested on two counts of sexual assault and three counts of open and gross lewdness, police said. Her name has been withheld because of her juvenile status and the nature of the charges, police said. Police did not reveal whether the other minor was a boy or a girl or if the other minor was older or younger.
The girl was taken to the Clark County Juvenile Detention Facility in Las Vegas, Boulder City police said.
Detective Michelle Isham said that the investigation is ongoing. At this time it does not appear that any of the staff members at St. Jude's had any knowledge of the incident, she said.
The investigation continues. Anyone with pertinent information is asked to call Detective Michelle Isham at (702) 293-9224, ext. 376.

Poor thing - why is she being charged? She "learned" that behavior from somewhere....
DEBBIE,
I echo your sentiments.
WHY is this in the newspaper?
"Poor Thing" are you kidding!
I see a double standard here. If it were a male the cry would be "hang em high".
A perp is a perp !!!
Some ideas for an obviously slow news day:
1. Criminal defense attorney David Amesbury is reported to be cooperating with the FBI in a fraud case involving LT. Kim of LVMPD. What is the fraud case? No one will say. And, since David Amesbury is married to Chief Deputy District Atttorney Victoria Villegas, is he cooperating to cut a deal so he does not get charged with any crimes?
2. District Attorney David Roger does not fully prosecute attorneys Jeanne Winkler, Mitch Posin, Phil Singer, and Doug Crawford, who stole or embezzled money from their or their law firms clients. Why not?
3. Why does it seem District Attorney David Roger refuses to hire anyone taller than him? Any Freudians in the house?
Right on steve7952
Not enough details. Could be just two kids experimenting?
Lenny_V -- what's always been natural is now criminal. The cops and DA have to do something to stay relevant and justify their budgets. The fact this girl now faces life as a registered sex offender is irrelevant to them. Welcome to the police state.
That's sad if that's the case. Who didn't play "doctors and nurses" as a kid. I know I did with the girl next door.
Why is she a poor thing? It was probably something pretty serious for her to actually be charged.
Hey I learned my criminal activities from what I saw on TV, I don't think I should ever be charged either.
