Collision
Metro Police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck that struck a 16-year-old Las Vegas girl in the northwest valley this morning, then left the scene of the collision.
Investigators responded at 4:22 a.m. to the hit-and-run on North Rancho Drive south of Duncan Drive. The girl was taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit with serious injuries, police said.
Police said the girl was trying to run across Rancho from east to west and ran in front of the northbound truck. She was struck in the center northbound lane, then the truck continued northbound, investigators said. Police weren't releasing other details about the injured girl.
The vehicle that left the scene was described only as a blue or black pickup truck.
Anyone with information about the collision or the pickup truck is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or Metro detectives at 828-3786.
