Letter to the Editor:

Don’t insure illegal workers on our backs

Monday, Aug. 10, 2009 | 2:03 a.m.

If universal health care gives free coverage to the 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States, does that mean in the future all immigrants crossing the border illegally will receive free health care?

That would be millions more people receiving health care. Who pays?

I hope I don’t.

  1. Our government is getting "We the people" conditioned to the fact that the people south of the border are going to become part of our country whether we like it or not. Then when they have destroyed our middle class, they are going to toss away the red, white, and blue and jam the North American Union down our throats. It's not "of the people for the people" anymore, it's "of the Government, for big business". Their ultimate goal is a "One World Order". Both Clintons, both Bushes, Obama and countless other polititions have talked about it. It can only take "We the people " to destroy it!

  2. We started losing are own identity as a country right after World War II ended in 1945 when we started getting entangled with the United Nations and all there bull#hit. This was done by corrupt politicians and big business that sold out the American people.

  3. You, we alraady pay and we pay for the most costy form of healthcare, drop in deliveries, ER visits for primary care needs. So, what is your point?

  4. The point? Read this article "No spendthrift, state has ballooning health care bill."
The States need to dump the uninsured on the Federal Government..and most uninsured are illegal.
The Federal Government, to absord the States and business burden will appropriate the entire 17% of the economy as "taxes" in the good name of "health care" for all.
This is nothing more than a money and power grab. Each administration will be able to rewrite the regulations and rules for care. Health care will suffer as it becomes a government run program..It is all about money and power, nothing more.

  5. NO, IT DOES NOT COVER ILLEGAL ALIENS so stop fretting about that and stop fear-mongering about it.

  6. We have to care for them.. The administration wants them counted for redistricting and hopefully ACORN can get the to vote.

  7. There has yet to be any language in the bill to exclude illegals

There has yet to be any language in the bill to exclude abortions.

All the admendments to preclude illegals and abortion have been voted down.

Remember that no matter what the House or Senate bills say the confrerence committe can do what ever they want.

So the idea that we should Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid is as Obama would say is supid.

  8. why would the new health care bill need to cover illegals...they already get free health care...

  9. Shirley Brant: You're question is a good one, but 70aarcuda is correct. They already get free health care. If the Republican conservatives in this country would stop fighting single payer health care socialization, the rest of us middle class workers would get free health care too.

What would it take to have conservatives open their brain that health reform, specifically HR 676 (yes google it), would be the only plan that would give us the same care as the illegals now get, and we would all get it for FREE. well at least we would all get it through our shared taxes.
