Proceeds from golf tourney helping UNLV athletes

The Findlay Toyota Rebel Athletic Fund Golf Tournament will be held May 11 at Bear's Best Golf Club. All proceeds benefit UNLV athletes.

The cost of the event is $1,800 per foursome or $500 per individual. Green fees, cart, tee gifts, lunch, dinner, color photo of foursome and awards ceremony are included in the entry.

The format is a four-person scramble and will feature hole-in-one contests, close-to-the-pin contests and long drive contests.

In addition, participants have the option of bidding on a UNLV coach or administrator to add to their foursome. Minimum bids start at $250 and featured players include UNLV men's head basketball coach Lon Kruger, football coach Mike Sanford, baseball coach Buddy Gouldsmith and women's basketball coach Kathy Olivier.

The morning flight is a 7:30 a.m. shotgun and the afternoon flight starts at 1:30 p.m. The dinner following play is scheduled for 6 p.m.
