Harrah’s reports resignation of board member

Harrah's Entertainment Inc. of Las Vegas today reported that a member of its board of directors, Jeanne P. Jackson, notified the company April 15 that she was resigning from the board immediately.
The disclosure by Harrah's didn't say whether Jackson provided a reason for her departure. Jackson, a member of the board since April 2008, couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Nike Inc. of Beaverton, Ore., announced March 4 that Jackson, 57, a member of its board of directors since 2001, had been named to the newly created role of President of Direct to Consumer for the company, effective immediately.
Jackson will drive Nike’s global retail efforts that include Nike-owned retail stores worldwide, its affiliate retail stores and its digital commerce organization. She will report to Nike Chief Executive Mark Parker.
Jackson is founder and chief executive of MSP Capital, a private investment company; and has served as a director of McDonald's Corp. and Nordstrom Inc.
She was CEO of Walmart.com from March 2000 to January 2002. She served with Gap Inc. as president and CEO of Banana Republic from 1995-2000, also serving as CEO of Gap Inc. Direct from 1998-2000. Since 1978, she has held various retail management positions with Victoria’s Secret, the Walt Disney Company, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Federated Department Stores.
Jackson is also the president of the United States Ski and Snowboard Foundation Board of Trustees.
