Letter to the editor:
Fox News displays a big maturity gap
Thursday, April 16, 2009 | 2:02 a.m.
Regarding Don Shirley’s April 9 letter to the editor, headlined “Fox News Channel is not telling you like it is”:
I heartily agree. Many times I’ve wanted to mention this in a letter.
Fox News’ “fair and balanced” coverage would give me ulcers if I were to keep watching it. With so much bitterness from adults, and so much bias against the Democratic Party on this channel, it’s hard to understand how these biased people don’t hear how they sound — like children.
No wonder our country can never be united.
Sean Hannity sounds like a kid with a big grudge. And thousands of people may not turn the channel to get other viewpoints.
Best advice: Tune it out.

HEY MARGE, the only ulcer Im getting right now is reading your letter, why don,t you go back to your comfort zone MSNBC, OR IF YOU LIKE MSDNC, NOW COME ON TELL THE TRUTH and try not to hit the koolaid so hard.
Hey Marge....don't talk to anybody about bias...you left wing liberals and your left wing media outlets were completely biased during the presidential campaign. And their bias continues even now. If anybody has the nerve to have an opinion other than that shared with the far left, they are labeled radical or racists. Ask yourself why the FoxNews programs are at the top of the viewship polls. Its watched by people that want to be informed of the reality, and not what the current Washington propaganda machine dishes out. I will keep my Fox and as PowerPlay says, you keep your koolaid.
Hey Marge(sorry, I just had to begin as the other two "intelligent" comments), thanks for sharing your opinion and allowing a couple of bitter hypocrites to share theirs. Too bad your truth-i-ness struck a nerve. My favorite Fox interview was Hannity & Palin. THAT was real unbiased with hard hitting questions. The best was when he asked her favorite color and if she liked ketchup on her eggs. Of course, those were the only 2 "non-gotcha" questions she got right.
In 12 elections, I have never seen a bunch of bigger babies after their party lost. Even the republican cheats couldn't rig this 60%/40% landslide to their favor. Powerplay & just mike, if you don't like the results, you're free to leave the country. Try one where they don't allow you to vote or express your opinion and see how things go. I'd say you could even return after 4 years, but Democrats will still reign. Maybe 8? 16? After all our current citizens forget the 15 billion a day wasted by Uncle Cheney and his puppet for 6 years? Nah, you may as well hide behind your grand illusions and hope that someone, somewhere will believe your tripe. You should try the "koolaid" before you criticize. It's a great drink, much more refreshing than the bullsh**-colada supplied by our previous puppet-presidency.
I do understand how you're upset. Our president has been in office for 3 whole months and things have only started improving. It took Bush 8 years to make things as bad as they are. With all the "support" Obama is getting from the Republican whiners, I also don't understand why it's taking so long.
While I agree if you don't like what's on, change the station, I also have a problem with the Fox News claim of being "fair & unbiased". Try being less hypocritical by NOT pointing out how other news stations do the same. We already know, just like we know any republican faced with a problem will pass the blame.
Cynical, either go back on your meds or go finish your wii bowling tournament.
Your "response" had me laughing so hard I nearly wet myself. Your comment about a "rigged" election shows how intelligent you really are. You are a shill for the Democrap party. I can see you are a uniter, with your comments about about Bush and then giving the check-writer-in chief a pass. Nice objectivity.
I don't understand how the libs can sleep at night knowing that Fox is allowed to be on the air. I mean a news channel that has libs AND conservatives on for differing points of view. That must be unsettling.
As for your last comment on passing the blame, really, really??!! You blame Bush for everything in your pathetic existence and tell people to leave the country. You are more unbalanced than a two-legged stool.
Finally, I don't recall the constant histrionics of anybody calling for the dismantling of CNN, MSNBC, PBS, NBC or CBS. Turn the channel. The libs are so afraid Fox is going to announce that the "Emperor has no clothes" that they try to stifle anything having to do with "fair and balanced".
I have read with great amusement the unbalanced and unsettling attacks on a TV station. A station that EVERY person in the world can TURN OFF, yet like moths to the flame, keep watching and then like a "twitching and frothing" victim of a horrible prank gone awry tries to get even. Weird.
Faux News is launching a spinoff. The Anarchy Channel. You must have an open ended prescription for a schizophrenia drug to subscribe. The new Faux News channel is packaged with Jerry Springer and roller derby reruns and comes with the Joe McCarthy autobiography, A Commie On Every Corner, with a forward by Sean Hannity.
I just am laughing so hard.
Fox News obviously drives the leftists nuts.
So just for that reason, we all should be happy that it exists.
Unbelievable belly-aching from the Left! I, too find it hilarious that liberals can't stand FoxNews because they represent Conservatism and all it stands for. All I can say is, now the Left knows how conservatives felt BEFORE there was FoxNews and all there was to watch was what the liberal media had to offer. Now we have a choice. So does the Left. But it mst be hard to tune out FoxNews and go back to CBS/NBC/MSNBC (I like ABC/CNN. They're OK) because there's a lot of whining going on out here against FoxNews! Gotta love it!
I am not aware of one news media company who doesn't have a political agenda. One the right side there is Fox. On the left there is seemingly all others. It is a shame that these outlets can't keep their politics out of the news coverage but they can't. There is a difference between a news story and a political commentary though and I believe that Fox is more unbiased in that regard. I just don't understand what all of the noise is about. Just because the Dems are in control doesn't mean the conservatives can't voice their opinions or should leave their country.
Seems to me a news channel shouldn't have to say that they're "fair and balanced". Who are they trying to convince?
Oh yes Fox drives us thinking people completely bonkers! Jeez we are so mad.
How can it be that ONLY Fox news is unbiased? All those others reporting the news are for the left? Seems to me the more likely scenario is that Conservatives only want the news telling them what they want to hear.
Why be bothered with just the facts and have to sit and think for themselves? That would just be brainwashing!
bitchin, If I watch CNN I think it is nothing short of propaganda and I think MSNBC is pure drivel. I love the "thinking people" angle, you just forgot when April fool's day was right? Right??!!
Yup, Fox News is totally fair and balanced.
All those shows, hosted by liberals.
Oh, wait, they don't have a single show hosted by someone with a different view?
Wait, wait, wait! Getalife wants to whine and complain about MSNBC and CNN, but both of those channels devote entire shows to a different point of view. You have that Lou Dobbs guy who rants and raves against illegal immigrants but who also employs them on CNN. And you have that republican stooge on MSNBC in the mornings who hosts four or five hours worth of programming.
Yet FOX, which has no shows hosted by a different point of view, is "fair and balanced?"
Is that a joke, getalife, or do you actually buy what you're selling? because I cant' stop laughing!!!!
Marge
why don't you just give up or better yet act like a fart and blow in the wind. Fox is the most fair station now on the air waves. Whot are you a commie or a socialist. Or maybe just a left wing nut next election you will see who rules the air waves. You make my day
FOX news is totally biassed. The incident where they tried to influence a presidential election with bogus forged documents drives home the point. No wait Marge, that came from your side. I would guess that you would probably describe CBS as unbiased. I would describe them as 2/3 BS. I understand Dan is still pursuing the story. One would think that he would have come up with something by now.
