After neglecting Vegas during their recent tour, Nickelback announced today that they will take their “Dark Horse” tour for a ride through Vegas this fall.
The Canadian rockers will take over the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday, Sept. 6.
While the show is all-ages, it will likely come complete with the band’s signature, over-the-top pyrotechnics and a profanity-prone lead singer and guitarist, Chad Kroeger.
None of this should come as a surprise to Nickelback fans, however; the combination of fiery effects and red-hot rock has become their signature.
The band’s recent raunchy hit, “Something in your Mouth,” has become a favorite at strip clubs (and is currently being used in one of X-Burlesque’s topless vignettes, as well) while other tracks like “SEX” and “Just to get High” are hardly sing-alongs for the pre-K set.
But, again, that’s part of the Nickelback experience. Their live shows are like their music: Formulaic, hard-hitting, power chord-laden displays of rock n’ roll. And, if their “Dark Horse” tour is anything like those that have come before it, the Sept. 6 show will include all the bells and whistles – in this case, smoke, fire, and plenty of explosives combined with strong guitars and the occasional F-bomb.
Tickets for what promises to be a raunchy, rocking night are available through a range of presales, the first of which, for select fans and VIPs, at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Citi credit card holders will have the option to buy tickets on April 8, and another presale, sponsored by presenting radio station, Mix 94.1, will take place on April 10.
The LiveNation Web site states tickets will be available to the general public on April 11th at 12 a.m. PDT.
