Follow the O.J. Simpson trial on Twitter
Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 | 10:22 a.m.
Las Vegas Sun reporter, Melissa Arseniuk, is using Twitter as she follows the O.J. Simpson robbery/kidnapping trial. Click here to find the "simpsontrial" feed and follow it online.
Twitter is a free micro-blogging tool that allows users to instantly relay information.
Las Vegas Sun readers can use Twitter to follow stories as they develop: Reporters file short dispatches to update readers in real time as events are happening.
Twitter enables reporters to share details of a story as it develops, before completed stories are posted online or appear in the paper.
Twitter works like a blog: Short dispatches are posted to a main page for others to read. New postings are displayed at the top of the page and over time this "feed" archive creates a chronology of events.
Followers of Twitter feeds can have updates sent to them instantly via e-mail or to their cell phone by text message (standard text messaging fees may apply). Updates can also be fed into subscribers' RSS feeds and Facebook pages.
It is free to use Twitter but you must register a username, password and e-mail address to create an account. Click here to open a Twitter account. Registration takes less than a minute.
