flashpoint:
Chancellor Jim Rogers is not backing off
Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 | 2 a.m.
Lest you think Chancellor Jim Rogers is backing off his assault on Gov. Jim Gibbons’ budget-cutting, consider this report from someone who knows — and Rogers did not dispute it — on what he said at a luncheon this week: “I’m told he used sentences containing both ‘Gibbons’ and ‘idiot’ at least 10 times. He also said he had declared war on Beers and Cegavske and will make sure the resources to defeat them are there. Said he took Cegavske to lunch last week to try one more time with her but she just doesn’t get it.” That would be state Sen. Bob Beers, who is on the ballot, and state Sen. Barbara Cegavske, who is not and who used to work for Rogers, laughably, as a consultant to his TV station. This will be fun to watch.

Sounds like Jim Rogers is either an idiot himself, or a very self interested individual that stands to gain a great deal from these attacks...

The Chancellor is not supposed to be so partisan.
Either the Regents should fire Rogers or we, the voters, should start firing some Regents.
If Rogers wanted to be in politics then he should put his money where his mouth is and ran for governor.
All those garbage mailers and billboards are being paid for by Rogers!!!!!!!
Rogers and the state Democratic Party lives in the sewer and they made friends with scum who make up those outrageous false lies!
It is becoming more apparent that Chancellor Jim Rogers is becoming unhinged.
Chancellor Jim Rogers must know that the only way to pass a tax increase (and increase education spending), is for the Legislature to pass the tax increase by a 2/3 vote. This would then also be veto proof. Only the Legislature can do this.
From a get the monies point of view this not about Gov. Jim Gibbons.
This is just about Rodger's animosity toward Gov. Jim Gibbons.
Millionaire Chancellor Jim Rogers same oblivious to the minion that would pay the tax increase.
Jon, nothing funny about watching someone become unhinged.
Maybe Adelson should get in and bury Rogers. He could if he wanted. Rogers should be more careful with what he says.
kdr81 is apparently of the view that if she repeats herself, it will make what she says true. I know the Chancellor and if you think he is doing this because he stands to gain, you know very little, least of his motivations. He's one of the wealthiest people in the state (and would increase his own tax burden if his proposals became law), has no political ambitions (although if he were younger, maybe), works for the state for less than minimum wage, contributes significant amounts to education (far more than he earns as chancellor) and is as altruistic a man as you will ever meet.
Jim Rogers has proven over and over and over again that he is bully and a nut.
Chancellor Rogers is doing a great job fighting for a better Education System.
how can this be a great job of fighting, when he keeps losing
Bob Beers is no savior for taxpayers. His 'cut to the bone' mentality will cost Nevada taxpayers big time in the long run.
Vote for Allison Copening. She is the change we need!

Copening is for higher taxes on businesses.
That sounds like Obamamonics.
It is dumb to raise taxes on businesses that are struggling.
Obama and Copening want to hurt businesses and hurt jobs.
Allison Copening is a business leaser.
Spare us the conservative rhetoric.
Where in the hell is she going to get all the money to pay for all that spending?
From the tooth fairy????????
Oh Please!!!!!!!
