FLASHPOINT:
Palin should be at home in Nevada
Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 | 2:01 a.m.
On the day Gov. Sarah Palin comes to visit the Alaska and Juneau of the lower 48 — Nevada has lots of hunters and anti-abortionists and Carson City is the state capital, too — there is mixed news about the GOP ticket’s chances here. The Democrats are surging in registration, with no end in sight — they lead by 70,000 statewide and an amazing 100,000 in Clark County. But Palin’s entrance into the mix may have helped push Nevada down a bit in the weekly battleground state analysis by The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza. Nevada has fallen from second most likely to go from red to blue to third, partly because “the Western appeal of the McCain/Palin ticket should not be overlooked.” The appeal will get its first test today.

It is amazing that with a 100k advantage that McCain could be close.
What is it about the DEMs candidates and message that just can not close the deal with their base.
Could it be that change is within the GOP
Going with Obama means going with Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Joe Biden. Nothing new there.
Going with Obama means going with redistribution economics which gave us the Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton recessions. Nothing new there.
Going with Obama means going with the Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton foreign policy which gave us Iran in it present form and a appressment policy. No Change there.
Obama has no record of taking on anyone least of all Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi.
Polls reflect people seeing that McCain-Palin will stop the money train from pulling out of D.C, get the lobbyist out of D.C., and a willingness and record to taken anybody in D.C.
A clear view of the state of this nation and this state shows that while the Republican ticket would like you to think that they can change, anyone who has lived in Arizona over the last 30 years can tell you that there have been questions about McCain's policy of flip-flopping so profound that there were often questions about what party he actually belonged to, and the people of Alaska know just which side their bread is buttered on to serve them government pork.
But here is a news flash - the $3200 payment to the citizens that Palin claims is her doing is nothing of the sort - it is a legislated payment as part of an agreement with the oil companies that was put through in the mid-1980's. My husband lived there until 1984, and received at least two payments before he left for military service, and at that time the payment was $1200. Allowing for increased profits and inflation, the payments being distributed to the Citizens of Alaska would be this money currently being distributed for which Palin is claiming credit. She would have been barely able to vote when this legislation was passed, and would have been receiving these payments her whole adult life, so she cannot claim ignorance of where they came from or for how long.
So, wake up, Nevadans, as long as Harry Reid and Pelosi are unwilling to confront the Republicans, you can count on liars and frauds and violent, senile old men running this nation. And for the record, attacking and assaulting fellow members of Congress (including an 80+ year old senior member and knocking them to the floor because you do not agree with him) is not the kind of willingness to take on anybody in DC that we need in this nation - not now,not ever.
