LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

You won’t see change from GOP ticket

Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 | 2:03 a.m.

Although she is better-looking on the outside, Sarah Palin and Dick Cheney are two ideological peas from the same pod inside.

They both favor Big Oil over alternative energy, come from the extreme GOP right wing, misrepresent science, use their government power to punish those who disagree with them, oppose solutions to climate change, and weaken wildlife and resource conservation.

John McCain talks change. But by picking Palin, and voting with Bush 90 percent of the time, he failed to walk his talk. If voters want another four years of the same, then vote for McSame. Barack Obama-Joe Biden provides the only real hope for genuine change.

  1. Some where along the way Richard Spotts learned selective hearing techniques.

John McCain and Sarah Palin are for "all of the above" energy security.

That means Solar, Wind, geothermal, bio-fuels, nuclear, clean coal, and new drilling, etc.

They believe it is better to get our energy domestically to stop sending 700 billion in petro dollars to our enemies.

This would mean energy security, millions of domestic jobs, and a strong dollar

Sooooo Richard Spotts thinks it is just "the extreme GOP" that wants domestic drilling, but the majority of people want "all of the above".

  2. Good comment, "2012".

Whatever is corrosive and weakening for America = the Democratic loves it.

  3. Obama/Biden are not real change. They are just repeating the same old same old Democratic ideas from the last 60 years.

Obama had the biggest South Chicago convicted crook be his core fundraiser for years. That crook helped him buy a house.

Obama has never seen one crook in all his time working the Chicago political machine.

  4. IF this political puppy, Barry Obama, REALLY wanted to be an "agent of change", he would have adopted the strategies of another Illinois politician named Abraham Lincoln.

Lincoln, as told in the book "Team of Rivals", by Doris Kearns Goodwin (a huge, did i say huge, lib, BTW), brought together many who disagreed with him into his Administration. In hard time, this team helped win for America, even though many despised each other.

Obama should have selected Hillary Clinton (gawd, it just "runs a shiver up my leg" typing this, lol..). Clinton IS the stronger candidate, just not the MOST LIBERAL one.

Obama was FAR too insecure, puppy-like in his bowing to the same ol' Washington "machine politics". He would have had executive experience in Bill, the Women in Hill and he'd handle the BLT vote - all around him. You know??

Obama rose from the Communist Child"hood" mentor and teacher, Davis; Chicago Machine Politics, Black Liberation Theology, Saul Alinsky-aligned Socialist, Jeremiah Wright School of Black Racism - School of politics.

The choice is becoming quite clear now. When Sarah goes out there one-on-one in interviews - she'll show and wear very well.

McCain / Palin put the Conservatives, and Women back in play in this election.
The ObamaCONS are scrambling and lying and getting their main liberal mouthpieces booted from political commentary and Biden is now a GHOST in this mix, for now. WHEN Sarah wipes Biden out in debate - Joe will just start riding the AMTRAK every day - same as before, lol...

You hear that the LSDNBC brainfart, Olbermann - and the caricature of a lib-mediapimp, Matthews GOT THE LOWEST RATINGS IN THE CONVENTION NEWS CYCLES.

FOX ROCKZ, tell a friend. FOX mopped-up the others on cable.

The McCain / Palin "bounce" and lead when the (D) is usually 10+/- points ahead re: lying liberal major media- and the demotions of Keith and Chris at LSDNBC - says too much, doesn't it?

  5. Watch the Republican PUPPETS try to sell us on Republican "change?"

    What a laugh riot!

They had full control over the executive and legislative for SIX YEARS! And look at the muck we're in. The worst housing market in DECADES, banks tanking left and right (Silver State Bank, sad to see you go), a sluggish economy, deficits and borrowed money from China funding two wars, etc.

And they want you to select "Reformed Maverick" John McCain and "Alaska DESERVES Earmarks" Sarah Palin to turn Washington around?

    Are ye daft, neocons?

    Oh, truly a rhetorical question!

McCain REPRESENTS all that is wrong for the last eight years. Selling himself as the "original maverick?" Only if we want the same BUYER'S REMORSE when we were sold "compassionate conservative" George Bush, who proved to be NEITHER.

Can anyone give me a substantial difference in domestic policy between George Bush and John McCain?

    ANYONE?

Of course not. They're two peas in a pod, and with Cheney basically GUSHING yesterday, trying to stick his tongue back in his mouth about Palin, we'll be watching RERUNS of the Bush administration for the next four years.

And then Makz being delusional about Palin putting women back into play? Are you kidding? Since being announced, even MORE women have turned from Hillary to Obama. Obama united the party, and women are quickly figuring out what Palin represents: a tyrannical tirade over women's rights.

She got up to introduce herself to the American people, gave a 30 minute speech and didn't mention EDUCATION or HEALTH CARE at ALL! She went out of her way to talk about hockey and snowmobile racing, but no health care or education? What a surprise: warped Republican priorities.

That's why women voters favor Obama by nearly 7 points. They trust him, and distrust the dishonest McCain/Palin backslide into Bush/Cheney.

American voters aren't stupid, so stop peddling the lies, neocons!

  6. The sad distortions of both President Lincoln's campaign and soon-to-be President Obama's political beginnings are the best evidence of your hollow and make-believe arguments. You lie to generate fear but it just won't work.

Reread Doris Goodwin, NVMakz. Hannibal Hammlin was NOT an opponent of Lincoln's in the primary. He chose his rivals for CABINET posts after he was elected. I'm sure President Obama will welcome Senator Clinton to his cabinet, if she so wishes.

Obama's political mentors when he first ran for the Illinois Senate were former Senator Paul Simon, Abner Mikva, a federal judge, and Newton Minnow. He actually ran AGAINST the entrenched, former revolutionary black establishment on the south side. His Ill. Senate primary opponent intitially withdrew from the race and invited Obama to run in her stead. Only after she could not raise funds for a congressional campaign did she try to reenter the primary only weeks before the nominating petitions were due. Was it wrong to challenge her petitions as obtained via fraud and deception and not meeting some very basic requirements? Well, the law's the law. Play by the rules or don't, but every candidate puts their name on the line and should be responsible for their petitions. This wasn't a technical challenge, a mispelled name or bad address, but a substantive issue and the State of Illinois Board of Elections, which was controlled by a republican chairman and had a GOP majority, ruled her nominating petitions faulty. The candidate who doesn't review their opponent's petitions doesn't deserve to be in office.

When he ran for the US Senate, his closest ally was Dick Durbin, and he alligned himself more closely with Congressmen Luis Gutierrez, and Congresswomen Jan Schakowski and Melissa Bean, than even Jesse Jackson, Jr. The Chicago Defender, an African-American newspaper, in fact one of the oldest and most respected black newspaper was the first to ask whether Obama was 'black' enough for the South Side of Chicago. He lost a primary bid for Congress against the very individuals you guys try to call his mentors. You just keep on with the lies, hombres. It ain't workin.

You guys sound like you're the wacky fringe of some offshoot of the College Republicans. Because you certainly didn't study your history well enough and you've got some real current research deficiencies. But why bother? As McSame and Palin(No relation to Michael, I hope!) have demonstrated, you can fool some of the people some of the time with a few lies. But as Lincoln proved in the end, you can't fool'm all, all of the time. Once again, the man from Illinois will occupy the White House.

  7. 43 and still having babies - Sarah, give it up - you're not a kid anymore.....oh, sounds like a song coming on..........

  8. Supposedly, Obama is the chief co-sponsor of the Illinois Ethics Reform Bill that passed.

It is strange that you rarely if ever hear Obama brag about it.

    Here is why.

Obama was not the author of the bill.

He did not work on the bill in any committee for the five months that it worked its way through the process.

He was not even listed as a co-sponsor of the Illinois Ethics Reform Bill until after the second reading of the bill which was on the day it passed.

Obama’s mentor, Emil Jones, was president of the Illinois senate and Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s enforcer (both Democrats). Jones made Obama the chief co-sponsor the bill after the 2nd reading on the day that the bill passed.

That “ethics” bill allowed Obama’s mentor Emil Jones to convert over $500,000 in campaign funds for personal use when Jones retired the very next year.

I think it is an excellent example of Obama's accomplishments as a state senator.

No wonder we never hear Obama parading this accomplishment.

Even on his campaign site where he talks about his state senator time, there is no mention of this bill and I see why.

  9. "43 and still having babies - Sarah, give it up - you're not a kid anymore.....oh, sounds like a song coming on.........."

I have a list of where crazed left wing bloggers, news writers and talk heads offend whole sections of voters that probably contain undecided voters.

I will have to add to the list older mothers that have children.

  10. As opposed to McSame's Saving's and Loan reforms, where he obstructed an investigation of a crooked and failing Lincoln Savings & Loan and then watched as it failed. The bill for his poor judgement is over 164 billion dollars. Thank you, you old poop from Panama!

  11. "esquared":

"The sad distortions of both President Lincoln's campaign and soon-to-be President Obama's political beginnings are the best evidence of your hollow and make-believe arguments."

All this was - was - a "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" analogy. In NO way was it ever depicted as an EXACT comparison. I never mentioned ANYONE at all, but"

"(Lincoln) brought together many who disagreed with him into his Administration. In hard time, this team helped win for America, even though many despised each other." (MQ).

"You lie to generate fear but it just won't work."

Blah, blah, blah. You haven't come my way because you would be crushed; for fun and amusement.

Have a nice day - on the long-winded warping on my intentions and post above.

As to the other 75% of your time typing your response: Thanks for the info!

  13. You have a narrow view of words and their meanings. I've read some of your record here, and feel great going forward.

"Matching wits with you is against my nature,"

No, that is your instincts telling you to run away before you get your feelings hurt.

Hillary IS the strongest candidate the lib-corroders had in '08. Obama was FAR too young, shallow and insecure to win the presidency out-of-the-convention.

He, instead, chose the "old, white man" = opening up the whole dynamic of Palin and angering the Clintons.

  14. I would bet $100 that PA would not be in play if Hillary was the candidate.
