LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

U.S. dollars should be spent first in U.S.

Sat, Sep 6, 2008 (2:02 a.m.)

When will our leaders in Washington realize we are running a trillion-dollar deficit?

A billion dollars to the country of Georgia is outrageous! With Hannah, Ike and Josephine on the horizon, we may need this money for our own country. Aid was already sent to Georgia; now we are sending money that we don’t have.

Yet the McCain group advertises that the Democrats will go through money as if it were water if they are elected. How can they when the well is already dry?

  1. The last two years the house and senate were under control of Democrats. What great strides they have take in budget cutting? LOL......

  2. Uh, Jim? It didn't take 2 years to run up the current deficit .... it took the previous five that the Rs were in complete control.

  3. Everyone should be proud that we are getting into more debt with China.

  4. Never underestimate how much damage Re-puke-licans can do in a very short time. They are and will continue to destroy our country until they are all voted out of office in November. 8 years of tyranny is enough.

  5. The last time that the Democrats were in complete complete control was the Carter years when they had a filibuster proof Senate majority and a large majority in the house.

As we all know that resulted in the worst economy since the great depression.

  6. So the economy (that was inherited from Nixon/Ford) was all Carter's fault. (And lest we forget, the OPEC oil embargo happened under NIXON'S watch, three years before Carter. This was followed by some of the worst inflation the nation's ever seen. But I suppose that doesn't count.)

Then St. Ronnie of the Raygun did what .... put us how deep in debt?

But the economy under Clinton was due to Republicans?

Seriously, Jim; does your head ever fall off from all that spinning?
