LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
Palin will be positive influence in capital
Sat, Sep 6, 2008 (2:06 a.m.)
Well, the expected bashing of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, has begun and I’m loving every minute of it because it’s an act of desperation, so rave on.
I saw her in an interview on TV a couple of weeks prior to the announcement of her as the vice presidential nominee and was extremely impressed by her. How many states can say they have no debt and have a surplus? And this with a population of fewer than a million to contribute to the state. She will be a welcome voice in Washington, and I pray the momentum continues in her favor.

Please define "bashing" and clarify how it differs from the scrutiny needed for anyone who is very very close to the office of the leader of the world.
If Palin's a joke, she's not a funny one. But this is funny: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/31/opinio...
How many states have the oil profits of a mini-Saudi Arabia? The windfall profit from the oil patch is the only reason why Alaska under Palin has a surplus!
Is the interview Mr. Telloian talks about the one where she admitted to not knowing what, exactly, a VP does?
Top 10 Reasons why Liberals hate Palin
10. She married to someone of the opposite sex.
9. She hasn’t been involved in a sex scandal.
8. Able to make breakfast, dress the kids, break for target practice, pick up the kids from hockey - oh . . . and run the largest state in the union!
7. She’s not gay.
6. She’s not black.
5. She bathes. (Tree-huggin’ liberals smell like ass)!
4. She has 5 kids. (That’s 4 more than the liberal acceptable limit).
3. She kills caribou not human babies.
2. She clings to her religion and guns.
The #1 reason why liberals hate Palin…..
1. She’s hot! (A “V. PILF”)
I don't hate Palin, dawg.
I just understand the simple truth, she's another borrow and squander Republican, whose record is filled with saying she's a fiscal conservative, but her RECORD (you know, those accomplishments you so love to tout) is awful.
She was mayor of Wasilla for only six years and managed to take a balanced budget upon her inauguration and trash it.... turning it into a $22 MILLION debt.
That was AFTER she personally traveled to Washington year after year to beg for earmarks.
Her "old boy's network" in Washington served her well, granting the tiny town of Wasilla $26.9 MILLION in earmarks. Of which, she spent every dime and then some!
She's a hypocrite, claiming to be a "reformer" when she's anything but. Her groupies see her as a sex symbol and overlook her actual accomplishments.
She's under investigation for misusing the power of her office. She has a nasty tendency to fire anyone who dares to disagree with her... like the town librarian in Wasilla who told Palin she wasn't comfortable when Palin asked her about BANNING BOOKS.
To top it all off, she has NO IDEA what the Vice President does!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUMWJoLR1...
She thinks the Iraq War is a crusade from God, and said that God wants her to build a pipeline.
Stop drinkin' all that right-wing kool aid and OWN HER RECORD if you support her!
The Libs are still having this obession with the McCain's VP.
Obama annouced his VP picked at 3:00 AM on a Sat morning.
Were they ashamed of their VP pick or were they doing a dig at Hillary?
You know what Thebs, it comes down to this. We can go back and forth with all the mud slinging. All politicians have dirt on them. That's why I laugh at people who worship them and contribute to their campaigns. I also laugh at liberals, such as yourself, that try to convince the rest of us that Obama is "squeaky clean." Now that's ridiculous.
For you to completely ignore Obama’s 20 year association with the trinity church is being dishonest towards the “simple truth” you claim to understand. How can Democrats be the party of racial unification when your candidate attends a racist church like that? How can Democrats be the ambassadors of women’s rights when they say Palin can’t possibly be a good mother while being VP of this country? Does any of that offend you as a racially sensitive person or a woman? Or is it just all about the liberal movement and the win? If you don’t feel anything then you’ve sold your soul to your ideology. That’s too much hate for someone to carry in their heart.
I've never contributed to a campaign, attended a political rally, or even had political sign in my front yard. I never will until a 3rd party is established in this country. What I do know is this: I will never, never, never, support progressive politics so long as I have a vote in this country. I'm a traditionalist. Our countries traditions are what makes us great and will continue to make us great. There is a place for progressives, it's called Europe. There are many transportation options to take you there.
She's a hipocrite.
She slashed funding for a state program benefiting teen mothers in need of a place to live. (Karma can be such a b1+ch!)
She's a liar. She didn't sell that plane on E-bay! After it didn't sell on E-bay, they hired a broker to sell it at a loss to the state of $600,000.
She's a breeder. But that's ok since to her, climate change doesn't exist, so let's keep bringing more resource-suckers into the world!
She insists on taking away women's rights to do as they please with their bodies, even in cases of rape and incest, and is against birth control, which, anyone with half a brain knows, is quite successful at PREVENTING abortions.
She insists on teaching "abstinence only" in schools. Guess that worked great, huh grandma?
She wants public schools to teach creationism. What was that about separation of Church and State?
She bullies those who disagree with her and does her best to make their lives hell and/or fires them if she can (i.e., librarian who refused to ban certain books, as in, trying to force the librarian to VIOLATE THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES).
She may not hate America (that we know of), but sympathizes with a group that despises America so much that they formed their own 3rd political party with the purpose of seceding from the USA, and who's motto is "Alaska First, Alaska Always". Her husband belonged to said party from '95 to '02.
Did I mention she's a hipocrite?
The good thing about her is being able to laugh at the absurdity of the whole situation and laugh at these idiots who think that popping out 5 kids qualifies her to be 2nd in command of the most powerful country in the world. I guess that means that the welfare mom of 8 down the street must be Presidential material!
Great posting LT2LV!!!!
You are making Obama proud!!!!
Be sure to talk like this in front of strangers especially women.
Keep up the good work!!!
Your 100% right, firedawg. We can go back and forth with the mud slinging. I thought I could stay above the fray, but too many people 'round these parts thinks that's the best way to knock Obama down.
I've never been one for a street fight, but in times like these, desperate times call for desperate measures.
I'm not ignoring Obama's association with his church. I'm not excusing it. Just as I'm not excusing McCain's begging for the endorsement of John Hagee, who called Catholics "prostitutes" and said that the Catholic church helped the Nazis kill Jews.
Politicians are not idols, they're human and have flaws. That does not mean, however, that one isn't BETTER for our country. Even I'm not that cynical.
It seems you can't separate the statements of someone who identifies with a party with the Party itself. If that's the case, I have 30+ years of quotes from devoted Republicans that indict Sarah Palin for her choices as a woman, that tear her down and seek to destroy her on her humanity, rather than her policy. I seem to have missed your statements divorcing yourself from those 30 years of misogyny and sexism by some in the Republican party.
I simply don't have to stoop that low.
I can illuminate her record, her policies (or lackthereof) and expose her as a hypocrite, a liar, the same old, same old. And when McCain tries to pander her to America as some sort of maverick, they'll know better.
Just because one Democrat says something, doesn't mean all of them believe it. See, that's the difference between you and me. You swallow all that kool aid, all the demonization of the other side and then come here and just write down whatever fragments you remember. I feel pity for Sarah Palin, she doesn't realize that McCain has used her to distract the press from the issues. I feel bad for her family.
But I can tell the difference between someone with conviction, like Nance, and someone like you, who just wants to pick fights and tell us how cynical you are.
As for Europe? No thanks. I'm a life-long Nevadan, and revel in my first amendment rights to be a constant thorn in your side.
Tell me, do you live in Nevada? Cause a fly on the wall told me you don't even live in this state.
Au revoir!
That fly was your husband, right? I just moved from Las Vegas after 3 years about 1 weeks ago. I'm a registered voter there and you can bet your sweet arse I'll be flying back Nov 4th to cast my vote for McCain. No use registering here in Oregon. It's Obamaville here. You and KSAN should move here. I'll send you some brochures. What a perfect world for you two where everyone agrees with you. You wont even have to blog anymore and demonize people who oppose your views like me.
You're right. I do come here and just write. The difference between me and you is that I form my own opinion. I don't spend countless hours looking up websites that support my cause and borrow their opinions. Even if I wanted to be a parrot for the Republicans, I would never have the time that you apparently do. I rather gather info from both sides and decipher that info for myself. I don't only like freedom within my surroundings, but also my mind. Feels good not to have others think for me or control my thoughts. Who in their right mind would want to be owned? You should try it Thebs. I highly recommend it.
Oh, and please continue to be a thorn in myside. I encourage it. This is all fun and games for me. Just don't get mad or all sensitive when my thorn is a little more prickly than yours. KSAN is a very sensitive man. He gets his feelings hurt too easy. I hope you have a little more backbone than him. Some girl power!
Wow, admitting voter fraud, right here, out in the open?
How brazen.
Give me the sanctimonious speech about how you're a traditionalist, again, will ya?
Yup, traditional Republican values, right here on display.
You're not a thorn, dawg. More like a rash.
Hey, I paid taxes in Nevada the past 3 years. I'm not going to let 2 months from the election get in my way. I don't see you complaining about all the voter fraud from illegal aliens. Libs love anything that's illegal especially when it comes to votes for Democrats. Illegals voting, union intimidation, hanging chads, etc.
You're definitely not a thorn either, just a leach, and you already know what & who you leach on to. For the sake of not achieving my 3rd strike on these blogs, I'll leave it up to you to recall instead f spelling it out for you again.
Woohoo! I got a shout out from jfnance!!
Here's a newsflash: everything in my post is true.
And by the way, I am a woman, and I have said and would say the above to plenty of people, some who agree and some who don't.
I find it hilarious that McBush would choose a moose hunting baby machine who he had met all of twice before offering the VP spot, who admitted just a month ago that she had no clue what a VP does (her exact quote: "As for that VP talk all the time, I'll tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day?"), in an effort to pander to Hillary's voters, the vast majority (if not all) of which have complete and polar opposite views from those of Mrs. Palin.
I actually find the whole thing absurd and can't stop watching in a train wreck sort of way. Like Britney Spears and Family. You want to look away but just can't.
Hmmm. A flip-flop in 50 minutes?
First I was a thorn, now I'm a "leach?"
Do you want to know what the definition of irony is?
You say you don't want to "spell it out for me" but you MISSPELLED leech.
So an admitted felon and a bad speller?
You couldn't be any more representative of the Republican party!
LOL, this dawg's been neutered.
LT2LV, can you tell me....
What does Cheney do most days?
What did Gore do most days?
What did Quayle do most days?
What did Bush, Jr. do most days?
What did Aaron Burr do most days?
Also, why did Obama say there were 57 states?
LT2LV, "She's a breeder. But that's ok since to her, climate change doesn't exist, so let's keep bringing more resource-suckers into the world!"
I want to pay for a bill board on 2-15.
I am thinking to put the above quote on it follow by this:
".....I am Obama supporter. If you are a parent of family that has more than one child then Obama does not want your vote."
Were you unaware that Cheney wrote the Bush energy policy as chairman of the National Energy Policy Development Group?
I suppose you never watched the Frontline from last year which detailed Cheney's unending desire to expand the powers of the executive?
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/...
Did you miss how he was involved in the whole race to Ashcroft's hospital bed?
Not to mention his championing of the war on Iraq.
Of all Veeps to ask about their regular activities, you chose CHENEY?
Nance, can you tell me what the following Vice Presidents all have in common?
John Tyler
Millard Filmore
Andrew Johnson
Chester Arthur
Teddy Roosevelt
Calvin Coolidge
Harry Truman
Lyndon Johnson
Gerald Ford
I'll give you a hint, it's in Article II, Section I of the Constitution.
Hmmm... what could it be?
And can you tell me why John McCain said that Iraq shared a border with Afghanistan?
WOW......so on MOST DAYS the VP takes over the Presidency.....
Gosh golly gee......MOST DAYS Cheney took over the Presidency!
Gosh golly gee......MOST DAYS Gore took over the Presidency!
Gosh golly gee......MOST DAYS Qualye took over the Presidency!
Gosh golly gee......MOST DAYS Burr took over the Presidency!
I must have been sleeping...on MOST DAYS the VP takes over the Presidency.
I must have been asleep in History when the teacher say that hum dinger.
....Of course, the VP do not take over the Presidency MOST DAYS.
That is not the daily task of VP's.
What does Cheney do most days?
What did Gore do most days?
What did Quayle do most days?
What did Bush, Jr. do most days?
What did Aaron Burr do most days?
And, as the sun follows the moon, the point sails straight over Nance's head.
Nine Veeps took over the Presidency.
9 out of 43?
Those odds aren't very good for Ms. Palin.
But you didn't answer my question. Are you saying that Cheney hasn't been productive as Vice President? Did you watch the Frontline I linked for you?
Were you aware he fought with Condi on North Korea?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnew...
He's been one of the busiest Vice Presidents in history. I can only assume that Ms. Palin will follow in his footsteps.
Or, are you saying that she's going to sit around the White House, drawing a salary as a public servant while accomplishing nothing?
Just because she may not be making the decisions of the President on a daily basis is NOT an excuse to give the position to someone who is utterly unprepared on national security and foreign policy.
Why is the McCain camp hiding her from the press, anyway?
Always making excuses for the Republicans, eh Nance?
LT2LV quoted Palin as saying: "As for that VP talk all the time, I'll tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day?"
I think it is a good legitimate question one should ask the presidential candidate when offered the VP position.
Some liberal bloggers say that this proves that she is clueless on what the VP does.
I think whenever a liberal blogger, like LT2LV, posts that quote it shows that they have no clue what the VP does everyday. What the VP does everyday is at the pleasure of the President's discretion.
First, you really need a good primer on what a "blogger" is. Commenting on the Sun's website does not make you a blogger. Go sign up on blogger.com or typepad and then you can call yourself a blogger.
Second, at worst you just admitted that Palin is no better than any liberal who questions what the Veep does every day.
Why didn't she just say, "They serve at the President's discretion?"
She was either demeaning the position as useless or demonstrating her ignorance.
Which is it?
And how could she think the Veep doesn't do anything when we have Darth Cheney running the shadow government?

I mean, how could someone like Jerome Corsi be wrong?
