LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Maybe Palin’s kids needed sex education

Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 | 2:05 a.m.

So sex education is not mandatory in Alaska! I always thought it was up to the parents to do that job. But maybe a mother of five prefers politics to educating her children about the facts of life.

Discussion: 5 comments so far…

  1. Well, actually, the kids all have a nanny. Maybe it was her responsibility to teach the kids! At the very least, we have a shining example here of the success of "abstinence only" education.

  2. Yes, lets use the children of politicans for political points.

That sure is the high road!

You know Al Gore......nay....I am not going into the gutter to be with you!

  3. You've already BEEN in the gutter, Jim, along with the punditry you claim is so "liberal". McCain's been in that particular gutter with his remarks about Chelsea Clinton.

Suddenly you're so saintly. No one's buying it.

Isn't "family values" a core "R" talking point? So are "nannies" part of those family values? Is an out-of-wedlock pregnant teen part of those family values?

Really, at what point do you people draw the line? Is it wherever it happens to be most convenient at a particular moment in time?

  4. All this does is underscore how the religous right has ruined the Republican party by trying to force church values on the country as a whole.

Young adults are going to have sex, period. Any responsible parent knows this and makes damn sure their children know how to avoid un-wanted consequences whether it be pregnacy, STD's or unacceptable reputations.

  5. I love how Mrs. Palin says she's proud of her daughters decision. What decision?? I thought she is Pro-Life?? Was there any question that she was going to keep the baby? Here they go contradicting themselves as usual.....
