Weekend to scare up cooler weather

Ghosts and goblins have another Halloween of warm temperatures to enjoy with the specter of a sprinkle this afternoon before cooler weather arrives over the weekend.
While Thursday's high of 86 degrees missed the record of 87 degrees set in 1933, the Las Vegas Valley doesn't have a ghost of a chance to hit the record of 87 degrees set in 1988 today. Instead, the National Weather Service forecasters said the high should reach about 84 degrees, still seven degrees above average for this time of year.
At noon the temperature stood at 80 degrees, said weather service meteorologist Jon Adair.
That's because the Las Vegas Valley shattered the maximum low temperature for today at 72 degrees, nine degrees above the record maximum low of 62 degrees set in 1990.
Weather observers spotted two narrow bands of clouds heading northeast from Barstow, Calif., that could bring a stray shower or two to Pahrump, 60 miles west of Las Vegas, and Indian Springs, 35 miles northwest of the valley.
There's a chance that a sprinkle or two will haunt this afternoon's weather in the Las Vegas Valley as well, Adair said. Light winds from 7 mph to 10 mph are expected.
Those spooky clouds creeping across the sky will continue through tonight before active weather arrives Saturday night.
By late Saturday afternoon the clouds will thicken and bring the valley and surrounding mountains a chance of rain or snow showers above 8,000 feet, depending on how quickly the cold air swoops down into Southern Nevada.
By Sunday the temperatures are expected to hover between the high 60s to mid 70s with lows ranging from the high 40s to mid 50s.
And then the colder weather haunts Las Vegas into next week, bringing seasonal fall temperatures to chase summer's ghosts away.

what do you think about the weather, is it from the R's or D's, or might it be libertarian? more magic! or maybe a redistributionist plot - or might it be marxist or perhaps from the far right wing? Hey, I think it is a centrist plot to make us all happy!
