CRISS ANGEL:
Luxor preps for post-premiere party
Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 | 1:45 a.m.
Work was underway Thursday as the Luxor pool area began its transformation for the “Criss Angel Believe” afterparty that will be thrown there Friday night.
As crews began assembling staging and lighting for the Halloween night post-premiere party, it was apparent the gala won’t be just another poolside party in Las Vegas.
Cirque du Soleil and Luxor officials have been tight-lipped about the event and few details have been released. Tickets to the Friday night event won’t be easy to come by. The special “dog tag” necklaces that will grant party-goers access aren’t for sale and aren’t being given to just anybody, either.
The guest list for the premiere’s “black carpet” was released Wednesday. Evangeline Lilly and Dominic Monaghan from ABC’s “Lost,” Angel’s rumored latest squeeze, Holly Madison, and her “Girls Next Door” co-star, Bridget Marquardt, Christina Hendricks from AMC’s “Mad Men,” and Neil Patrick Harris from CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother” (and of “Doogie Howser, M.D.” fame) are all expected to attend.
A handful of Angel’s musically inclined friends – Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe, Sully Erna from Godsmack and the members of Hinder – will also be there, among other VIPs.
While the party will get underway at about 8:30 p.m., Angel and his cast won’t join the revelers until later that night. The magician will make his entrance after the 9 p.m. showing of “Believe” lets out -- when he and his cast and crew will get the party started.
