Letter to the editor:
ACORN dust-up a GOP distraction
Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 | 2:02 a.m.
All that dust the Republicans are kicking up over a small number of ACORN registrations is meant to mask the giant oak tree of voter intimidation and suppression by the Republicans themselves. While there is no evidence of a fraudulent vote cast by an ACORN registered voter, there are many examples of suppression from the 2000 and 2004 elections as well as in this 2008 vote.
The vote-by-phone scam, exact match registrations laws and faulty or too few available voting machines are just a few of the branches of this suppression of voting rights in tight elections.
The root of voter suppression is that the rich tend to vote for the Republicans and the working class poor tend to vote for the Democrats. Since there are more poor workers than there are rich folks, the only way Republicans can win is by getting people to vote against their own interests and/or by suppressing the vote.

Yes, there is voter suppression. There is suppression of the illegal immigrants not to vote. There is suppression of the people wanting to cast more than one vote. Stuffing the ballot box wasn't invented here, it was perfected in Chicago decades ago. Anyone remember the first Mayor Daley and the election of Kennedy? Maybe not. too long ago. Does anyone remember Sirhan Sirhan. This "political prisoner" in California was the subject dedication of Bill Ayers book. The assassin of Robert Kennedy as held up as a political prisoner of the United States by the pro Palistine leftist author from Chicago. Disgusting.
Letter writer, you make some excellent points here that I had not considered before.
I think most people (who want to) can see that the ACORN "scandal" has no effect on real votes. But I doubt that most people realize the issues about vote suppression by Republicans which you raised. I see the problem for them, and I thank you for it.
Evita had her "descamisados"; Obama has his taxpayer funded community organizers ACORN.
Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Peron, Castro, and Chaves all gathered crowds begging to hear about the coming "change" from their deliverers. They were all charismatic speakers that attempted to work from the bottom up, what they achieved were cultures that are/were poor, starving and uneducated.
But on to ACORN -A Pennsylvania ACORN employee testified yesterday that the community group knew that most new voter registration forms it had gathered were fraudulent. Moncrief also testified that, in November 2007, she was given a massive database of Barack Obama donors who had already reached the maximum that they are allowed to give to the Democratic presidential nominee. Her task was to cull it for potential donors who, though prohibited from giving any more to Obama, could give to ACORN. Moncrief also testified about an effort she called "muscle for the money" in which ACORN would, for a price, organize protests against corporations on behalf of clients such as unions. As a Democrat voting for McCain I am living in a "reality-based world" others are voting for a change they can not see, a hope they can not touch and a candidate that is based on their own vivid imaginative desires."
Bass you have some serious issues. First, as I've stated before from your spam dreck, Obama will be elected, Stalin, Hitler, and Castro were not ELECTED. They were either appointed or were able to seize power. These people also had far more radical agendas and were always against democracy. So just flailing pathetically and naming all the dictators you can doesn't make a cohesive point. Additionally, Stalin was not a good public speaker. During the Revolution when he could have been building a power base he wasn't. He wasn't charismatic. He was able to abuse the position of Party Secretary to hire people loyal only to him to make a shadow government. Once Lenin died, Stalin was able to implement his shadow government to take over, much to the displeasure of Trotsky et al. Learn some real history before spout off some nonsense, it's disgusting.
And to play your game, plenty of military vets have seized power and trimmed liberties such as, Idi Amin, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Ho Chi Minh, Kim Il Sung, Francisco Franco, the Khamer Rouge, Pinochet, and the military Juntas of various governments. Ooo wow, McCain must be just like them right?....
I see... So now we have wackos like Bass here comparing Obama to hitler/ Let's see..... who was it about 8 years ago, speaking to thousands and saying "don't worry, the 'adults' wil soon be back in the white house and things will change?"..... Hmmm..Thinking...thinking.... Oh yeah, it was BUSH!!! I guess that bush is Hitler.
Oh, and Bass..Where is your source for your "Pennsylvania ACORN worker?" If you had any source it would have been ALL OVER FAUX NEWS!!! You claim it's in the Philadelphia Inquirer (Try getting the name correct for the sources you "cite"), yet I can't seem to find any mention of this, except for a letter to the editor, which has a complete debunking right after it.
The reason the whole ACORN thing doesn't stick is because every time McShame or Mooseburger brings it up, the next thing we see is Johnno standing before the SAME ORGANIZATION, PRAISING THEM FOR THEIR GOOD WORK!!! The same with the whole Kalidi "scandle," since McShame chaired a group and personally signed a grant for $480,000 to the SAME KALIDI!!
Just get over it! I wouldn't be surprised if we see a photoshop image of Obama and Satan shaking hands. The McShame/Mooseburger ticket is surely capable of stooping that low.
"As a Democrat voting for McCain..."
This is hilarious! In case anyone here cannot see right through this hogwash, let me know. It's not that hard.
Bass, do you actually know Mr. Murdoch, who owns the paper you "sourced". Would you tell him to please take his aussie self home and let us elect the leaders WE want instead of the leaders HE wants elected?
It's starting to feel like Iran in 1953 when our CIA deposed their leader because we didn't like him. Say, I wonder if that's why they are so pissed off at us? Nah! I'm sure it's only because they are evil Muslims. (everybody eye-roll with me now.)
