Letter to the editor:
Obama shows poor financial judgment
Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008 | 2:01 a.m.
How is Sen. Barack Obama going to save us money when he thinks nothing of plowing more than $600 million into his campaign? This is disgusting when you think of all the people without jobs or health insurance and all the homeless with nothing.
Why didn’t he take some of this money and help these people? I am sick of looking at all those ads on television, thinking of what the cost must have been.
If he gets elected, let’s see if he follows through with all the promises he utters. We know that neither Democrats nor Republicans keep their promises.

I believe that Obama will keep his promises.
In four years, I expect Yucca to be shut down.
In four years, I expect the USA not to be running annual deficits not higher than George Bush's (not higher than $500 billion).
In four years, I expect that will be a major reduction in the USA dependence on foreign oil.
In four years, I expect significant savings in the cost of health care cost.
In four years, I expect Obama's health care give away not to cost the taxpayers an arm and a leg.
In four years, I expect Obama to have appointed judges who are pro-gun rights.
In four years, I expect that the world will just love, love, love us and Iran will have stop building its nuclear weapons program when they have coffee and donuts with Obama and just drop their program.
Why is the LA Times suppressing video tape of Barrack Obama giving a toast to Rashid Khalidi, the PLS spokesperson at a party in his honor. Is it because Khalidi still supports the destruction of Israel and the end of Zionist influence in America? Or is it because also on tape are the people he hardly knew, Ayers and his wife Bernadette Dorn, enjoying the party with Obama.
Khalidi was described as Obama's best friend and had even babysat for the Obama children. Why does Obama deny all these radicals he is tied to. If he supports their views on the destruction of Israel as his friend Farrakhan does, why doesn't he just explain his views.
"Why didn't he take some of this money and help these people?"
Can't think of a single candidate who every did as you suggested. Of course, by working hard to get elected, I'm sure that's what Obama believes he is doing.
How much of your own money have you given to those in need?
This is an election. People donated their hard earned money to help him win the election. That is what he's supposed to spend the money on. I would much rather know my donated money went to help buy commercials and fund the campaign than to hear he spent it on $150,000 in clothing, $22,500 in a makeup artist and however many thousands were spent on Sarah Palin's speech coach. If I had donated to that campaign and then found out about that, I'd really be unhappy. Barack Obama has many plans for setting this country back on track once he gets elected. Our campaign donations were made to help make sure that happens.
I second that. I donated money to the Obama campaign because I wanted him to use it to get elected. Had Obama used it for any other purpose I would have been rather upset. I believe the best way to help the people of whom the letter writer speaks is to elect Obama. A McCain presidency would, among other things, neglect these people. First thing's first. Let's get Obama elected.
BTW, UTooSouthZone,
The whole point of spending $150,000 on clothes for Sarah Palin was so they could auction the clothes off for charity after the election is over. Really. It was. The McCain campaign woiuldn't lie about that. Really.

And I'm sure they have the emails where they discussed that as part of the plan. You know, with dates and stuff to back it all up.
Bobbie A. Antunovich,
ARE YOU JOKING?
What are you smoking?
Or are you naturally stupid?
I was waiting for an announcement for Gov. Palin's wardrobe auction info by Christie's or Sotheby's (She did not well with eBay before, and Diva has outgrown eBay). But she may have to give up glossy auction catalogs.

It seems that Gov. Palin is about to destroy one small business in Alaska.
I also wonder how she is going to auction about $35000 bimonthly spending on hair stylist & make-up artist services.
$150,000. for clothes is not $600 million, especially when you constantly promised you we weren't going to overspend on the campaign. He's a liar like the rest of them. Don't think he is going to be this Saviour just because he's black. Once you are where he is, your are not black anymore. They forget their roots like anyone else that gets rich and famous. He is a radical and all of us are in for a big surprise if he is elected. We won't be taken over by terrorist, we will be given over to terroist by our president.
Have you read the laws governing the financing of federal elections?
What's with morons thinking either Barack is a terrorist or that he'll turn the country over to terrorists if he's elected. Is Obama inviting Osama over for tea on January 21, 2009?
I also (speaking only for whitey of which I am one) don't think he's a savior at all, but I especially don't place his ethnicity as the reason he'll do well/is a savior.
In any case, the fact that Obama raised a lot on his own from his followers is good for him. He excites people, makes them believe in him. At least he didn't get money from the party, and then spend that money on clothes, makeup, and a hair stylist. You know why people feel Palin is a liar? When you say you're Jane Sixpack and like the rest of us, and you spend more money on clothes and whatnot in a month than I will make in a couple of years. How's that in touch with the common man? Oh yeah it was all going to charity, right... If so couldn't they have specifically asked stores to donate these clothes to Palin so at the end they could be auctioned for charities, like the Special Olympics? In sum, they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
I don't mind the crazies. To be honest, they're just repeating failed arguments.
The more McCain/Palin/their crazier supporters hype Obama as buddies with terrorists, or a closet socialist, etc, the higher Obama's poll numbers go.
There's obviously no positive case for a McCain presidency. All these yahoos fill their comments with wackiness and bigotry, rather than a rational justification for a vote for McCain. Even the McCain campaign has basically surrendered a positive case for smears and fear.
I guess learning/adapting isn't their strong suit.
I also just caught that rittergirl used the Queen's English in calling Obama a savior. So that raises the question about her, are you able to vote here?
